Hybrid (same goes for PHEV) is the future, not those overhyped and overweight EV. Hybrid wraps in a compact is what most people need and want, as a daily driver. Toyota is the benchmark of how they perfect the concept. Hyundai/Kia and Honda are getting close, in this powertrain department. I can't wait for 2025 Civic hybrid coming to the market, then consumers will have a great comparison shopping between Civic Elantra and Corolla. Also the iconic hybrid: Prius.
@jamespaul25879 ай бұрын
Not really, the additional complexity, higher operating costs, and maintenance required for hybrids is one reason to consider an EV, especially as a wider variety of models become available and prices fall. Hybrids are a good solution for many, especially in areas of poor charging infrastructure and for those without home charging

Just a friendly suggestion. Don't be afraid to say something sucks. I noticed you try to redirect to things you like rather than simply stating a feature or material is not good compared to competitors or US variants. Its understandable if you receive a commission on each sale. But if there's no incentive for you to sell the vehicle, I'd much rather you be brutally honest about vehicle offerings. I still really like the information provided and the professional film style. I "liked" the video and subscribed! Looking forward to future reviews

This car is really compelling. I like that it is still a sedan. I would be out looking at one except that my 08 Elantra (manual transmission) still only requires standard maintenance and keeps going. I like the mechanical seat positioner--simple and reliable. Awesome that they have dumped the CVT on the hybrid.

It got over board with Nissan and Toyota particularly going on about the looks - I did not even look at the outsides really, told my brother when I was test driving it - ignore the looks it is all about it being a great driver. After I got it a couple weeks took a good look and it was very well done, got lots of compliments - my brother heard kids over the fence - "wow what type of car is that!" and the other kid said "well image a Lamborghini and Hyundai had a baby .. this is that baby".

There's so few allocations for Elantra Hybrid in Canada, good luck actually getting one at MSRP and not waiting ages. This was my first choice when I was looking 2 years ago. I put a deposit for 2022 Elantra Hybrid, they told me it will be 1 to 1.5 year wait time. It was my first experience at a dealership so I signed it anyway and there were 1.3k extra fees added on top. A couple of times they called me to say there's a cancellation but there's even more fees that I must pay if I want it, I declined. 1.5 years actually passed and they still didn't say my car is coming or something, it's pretty clear they just kept bumping me down when another sucker is willing to pay all those extras. Not to mention the 2022 MSRP was actually reasonable, now its up by more than 4k at least. I ended up picking up a 2024 VW Jetta Comfortline, 1.5 months wait time, and MSRP + $500 dealer fee.

The DCT kills this for me (and I'm not crazy about the looks either). Granted, the Corolla Hybrid's interior is a step behind in quality/design, but its eCVT is bulletproof and would be far more reliable than Hyundai's DCT that has caused a ton of issues on other Hyundai models (there's even a class action lawsuit/recall for it). Plus, I prefer the Corolla's exterior and the available AWD. So it would be the Corolla for me if I was in the market for a hybrid sedan.

I just bought this vehicle. There are too many bells and alerts. I realize they are promoting the latest safety features, but... Turn the corner in a double left turn and the car beeps, even though both vehicles are in their own lane. Is it a warning someone is next to me, probably, but in a turn, I knew that. No need to beep. It also has a quiet doorbell. I've tried to read what the doorbell is telling me. The internet states if it is cold out it was a warning there "could be" ice on the road. It was 64 degrees outside. No ice?!? Warnings might be easier to live with if the owner knew what the warning was telling the driver. The car alerts, you look at the dash, and nothing tells you what the car is warning you for. The car could use 2 inches more of head room. If I want my seat as I am used too, my head hits the ceiling. I'm 5' 4". The taller you are, the more you would have to angle the seat back. I owned 3 Prius in the past, but due to the lack of inventory, was unable to compare the newest model with this Hyundai Elantra. Thanks for your reviews. Appreciate it

Did a lot of shopping around and ended up with the Elantra Hybrid Limited (USA). It's an incredible car and i didn't realize how amazing the wide screen was with Android Auto until i used it. I can't go back to a normal screen ratio! My ONE beef is the "Will they, won't they" game with wireless Android Auto. This car has all the necessary hardware but it hasn't received the software update yet while weirdly enough the 2024 non hybrid and 2023 hybrid already have it. I'm also a bit annoyed it doesn't have the turn signal cameras like the non hybrid even in the highest trim. Guess i have two issues lol

Nice review...How would compare the ride to the new Prius...also cabin space? Thanks
@wulongchai8 ай бұрын
i test drive both. I can tell you that on start of acceleration, the elantra hybrid is faster. 0-30 I think, Elantra is so fast. When it is 30-60, Prius gets up fast and pass Elantra acceleration speed. Elantra hybrid blown Prius away in term of cabin space. Elantra is way bigger and so quiet compare with Prius when driving. I feel like squeezing in a can in Prius backseat. After test drive both, I feel Prius only won Elantra by reliability by long term(but again, Hyundai has 10 yrs warranty), and Prius also won Elantra by horsepower by alot. All the turning, space, quiet, and interior design colors, Elantra really blown Prius away. It is just choosing which one you prefer. Reliability+more horsepower VS 10years warranty plus better space, quietness, turning, braking, interior design. I still have my Camry, so I can tell you Elantra space is like so same size with my Camry. I can't really tell the size difference, but two front and back seat space are so similar.

Ah .. I would have gotten one of these .. they had none and were going to let me test drive another model on the used lot that had the "previous generation" of the powerplant. So much going for it. "On Demand AWD" -- what you want for driving in bad snow, it is not so much AWD but more "on demand" ground clearance -- so AWD is nice potentially when the snow is not so bad - but once bad - kind of like being able to toggle traction control - a extra tool but only because you are already in the stew , and would trade "all of that for an extra inch or two of ground clearance any day".
