Just got a 2024 passport...drives amazing and fuel efficiency as good as our Oyssey....just under 10liters per 100km. The 4 wheel drive really gets that big beast to turn in so well. Very peppy and nice and quiet too. I would recommend the passport!

We also didn't get the VW ID.3, which is too bad. A Toyota dealer told me the wait for a Corolla Cross Hybrid would be a year plus, barring getting lucky by buyers not taking delivery and then a long line of people on the deposit waiting list being not interested. The hybrid versions just outshine the non-hybrids too well to want the latter, but the wait is simply too long.

Thanks for sharing. Its too bad as the Camry is such a great car. Its all about the net profit for these legacy brands, and I am sure Toyota is not the only that is doing this ie. maximizing profit per car in whatever market they can. This video discussed supply but not pricing where the Stealerships will add on extra market adjustment costs and other fees driving the price up. They get away with it for the most part because if you dont pay up, with limited supply someone else will pay. Friends of ours just went through this and it was not a pleasant experience...

I agree with the point about why US gets the bulk of the RAV4 made in Canada. They make about $10k more per unit compared to the US. Check the inventory levels of dealers in US. Houston, LA etc dealers have 100+ units each of RAV 4 most with VIN #'s starting with 2.
@ytj226 сағат бұрын
It is quite a bit more, not sure if it's $10k though. I can see sending more to U.S. if both Canadian and US lots are empty. However, what is the cost of a lost customer in Canada if the car is just going to sit on a US lot for a month or more?

For PHEVs specifically, they were much cheaper in Canada (NX PHEV is 59k CAD and 62k USD) so it made no sense for Toyota/Lexus to sell it in Canada if there is US demand. With the EV credit ending, there’s going to be a price change coming that aligns it more with the US, which will definitely see more inventory.

CX70/90 forums are full of complaints about the PHEV being bricked for various reasons usually relating to the battery or related things failing. They get towed back to the dealer who often have no ability or parts to fix it. That model has shown it is totally not ready for prime time and should be bought back by Mazda. The extra added attraction is that both versions have OE tires that wear out at 10000 miles +/-, just ridiculous. Avoid.

I sat in a durango 2 years ago with this interior and wow is it quite nice. I don’t feel it’s dated at all on the inside partially because i’m massively against these bmw, kia/hyundai, mercedes one piece dash length screen designs but Cylinder deactivation needs to be taken out. The cylinders that turn off will cool down while the ones running will not and then when they’re re-activated theyre at different temperatures and over time this will cause excess wear and premature engine issues. When searching for our families used 08 odyssey 13 years ago we Only looked at The lx and ex models because the 3.5L v6 in the Ex-L and Touring had VCM and also reported issues with that technology. Chevy also has issues with that technology. If honda can’t do it.. no one should. Other than that the durango has sooooo much space and is very comfortable.

It would take many years to get plants up and running to help.
