I just got some of these after watching your reviews, wanted something reasonable and not too expensive. I've done a test of them today and got over 2.5 miles in a straight line (about 4km), quite pleased! I was on the South Downs and my wife at home inside the house, I was at a high open area but the signal did have to go through some trees, bushes and other houses etc. Checked distance on a OS map online.

Sure, under certain circumstances PMR radios can get quite the distance.

However, as soon as you are in the city, or there are obstacles, the range tends to drop quite significantly.
@ReviewTechTV4 жыл бұрын
Hence the range is very much affected by the environment.

Great result. All I could get in a rural area was about 1km and that was only when the other person went out of the house. Max distance I ever got was 4km, it was pretty high in the mountains, practically no obstacles and still lasted only for a short while before the connection broke. Typical distance I get is 600-800 meters.

Logged in to tell you that just ordered these based on my intuition, knowledge and experience. Then opened your video to check whether I`m right or wrong. Dude, that`s what every review should cover, meaning the range test is the most important for such products. We all know they will work from the other room or backyard. You just made me more confident that I made the right choice!
@ReviewTechTV2 жыл бұрын
The range can fluctuate significantly based on your environment, longer range country side, short range city, but all PMR radios have same output power of 0,5 Watts.

Is it waterproof?
@ReviewTechTV7 ай бұрын
The Motorola Talkabout T62 Walkie Talkies are not waterproof. They are designed for general outdoor use but do not have a waterproof rating. If you need walkie talkies that can withstand being submerged in water or used in heavy rain, you would need to look for models specifically rated for water resistance or waterproofing, often indicated by an IP (Ingress Protection) rating.
