I've been looking out for a good second hand low mileage 1.3 diesel for over a year and I have managed to find one and get it home just before the lockdown came into force. 2015 model with only 13.000 miles on the clock but I'm itching to get it out and have a day on the open road to get to grips with it. It's just the way things are and there's nothing nobody can do until we beat this horrific virus but the small journeys that I've made in the cross I'm really and truly impressed with this little 4x4 and I'm looking forward to winter for once in my life to see how it performs in snow.

Nice review! I have to say the 0.9 twinair turbo engined option is often overlooked mainly because it's only a twin cylinder low capacity 875cc petrol engine and drivers feel, like myself before I drove it, that it would lack power and driveability ! In fact nothing could be further from the truth, in fact it develops more power than the diesel and Fiats 1.2 4 cylinder petrol engine and has more torque! The 0.9 twinair engine is a lighter lump, has less moving parts, which means less friction which equates to more MPG, it's also way cheaper to service! It drives superb and you quickly forget it only has 2 cylinders, the turbo and twinair system in the engine, helps it develop 85 bhp, there is also a 105bhp version. Thats a power to weight ratio greater than a Land Rover Defender. The 6 speed gearbox helps to match the correct gear with the road speed to help keep that revvy little twin cylinder engine at it's peak efficiency. I have the Panda 4x4 Antarctica 0.9 twinair and thoroughly enjoy driving it. On a recent long run, I got 54.2 mpg average over 84 miles of mostly A roads @50 and 60mph, around 1/3rd of that was slow moving traffic and driving through a busy city centre! 😎👍

We have the Panda 4x4 0.9 Twinair Antarctica, very similar just slightly different styling/bumpers etc I can thoroughly recommend them for anyone looking for an economical, practical, fun to drive, rugged car. Don't be put off by the Twinair engine only being 875cc and 2 cylinders, it's actually more powerful than the 4 cylinder 1.2 petrol engine Fiat do and has more torque! It's a lighter engine, less moving parts, means less friction and it's turbo charged, it puts out around 85bhp which is plenty for a small car like the Panda. It's a lot of fun to drive, full of character and very cheap to run and service, Road tax is just £30 for the year, fully comp insurance just £310 for the year ⚠️👍😎 I get around 45mpg urban/general driving, probably nearer 50mpg on a longer run but you can easily get these figures down to mid 30s if you put your foot down! 😯😁⚠️

Still a few for sale on Auto Trader, if you live where it gets a bit nasty in winter its a good cheap alternative to a Subaru XV. Not in the same class but ive had a Panda 4x4 and its a remarkable car. I never got stuck in anything, and I took it in some rather silly places !

has it got a low gear box like the jimny .
@pdtech45244 жыл бұрын
No, although it has a very low 1st gear. The rotary dial near the gear lever gives 3 modes, normal where most of the power goes to the front wheels, around 90/10% split, the electronic differential lock mode which splits drive to the front and back wheels 50/50, works upto 30mph and a 3rd hill descent mode. The system is really good, it's permanent 4x4 but has traction control and Electronic Stabity Program, if one wheel loses traction it will brake that wheel with the Electronic Brake Distribution and put power to the other wheels.👍😎

Unfortunately, my 2017 Panda Cross Diesel Multijet 1.3 gives me the huge 8lt/100km (30mpg) consumption, and this does NOT include off-road driving. No matter how much I try, it never goes under 7.5lt/100km. So just test for at least 50km before you buy it, to check for yourselves.

Gio Dimitriadis Well if it's not doing what it should be doing you might be better going to get it sorted at a reputable garage, it will never do what the manufactures claim,but it should be capable of more, hope this helps.
