You can say what you want about Hocevar but at least he owned up to his stupidity. He clearly had a sense of humility during the race and in his post race interview. On a side note , the playoff system is AWFUL.

I don't care what anyone says. This is the mess Nascar wanted/created with the rules changes over the past 15 years. The Cup drivers are a bit lucky there hasn't been this type of mess at the Cup level...Yet. it's coming...eventually.

It created these rules in order to become like any other sport in America. A normal sport with a normal championship system. And a few old people that want it back to how it was before aren’t going to make them go back. A team that didn’t do good but preforms when they need to is called an underdog or upset in other sport’s and is cheered for, but here it’s frowned upon, when it shouldn’t be. Sports in the end are for our entertainment every week, not actually to truthfully decide the best guy accounting for every little stat… you know that right?

@NASCARorbascarpeople the difference is every other sports has competition fully participating or not participating at all when is comes to the playoffs. With Nascar you have 30+ competitors who have said they don't race the playoff drivers to the best of their ability and the playoff drivers who complain every year the rest of the drivers should let the playoff drivers go and not race them as hard.

I've been seeing that a lot of people were very upset with this race. Even I was upset too. This is why there shouldn't be a "Playoffs" in NASCAR. They need to bring back the traditional season-long championship run where whoever has the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. Also this proves the hypocrisy of NASCAR and the modern-day fans where winning only matters, whereas Ben Rhodes only had 1 win this whole season. Steve Phelps and Brian France are the downfall of NASCAR. I'm glad Brian's gone, but Steve Phelps and the entire higher ups in NASCAR need to go now.

I totally agree man. I hated the stage racing and now this to end it. I loved the racing the whole race. It was more a team thing back then. Now it's almost just hard to watch

I disagree. I think NASCAR was forced into making this change. Before "the chase" you had drivers winning championships by hundreds of points. They could just set out the last race and still win. Is that really what you want? Or do you want to see these teams have to show up every week with a strong car? I totally understand what you're saying, but the old points system was really boring. A lot of people would just tune out by this time. Now, at least there's a little bit of excitement and drama.

​@@mattsrcandstuff6982Attendance kinda died after Earnhardt did. Say what you want about him, but his personality carried the sport for a long time. I think NASCAR made a change that they felt was necessary for the sport to continue. Every sport needs playoffs. Otherwise, it just gets boring.

Maybe Hocevar turning Heim was not a smart thing to do (absolute class act for owning up to it the way he did) but was that move by Heim at the end really necessary, or did it really acheive anything?

I get the impression you havent been watching Nascar for very long. Revenge is almost mandatory. I do feel it was an incredibly dumb move for all that, the way this race ended Heim was certainly not out of it at that point.

NASCAR should have not thrown that first g-w-checker caution. They do it to themselves. Trigger happy. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the wrecks though. It's not "pure" but it's entertaining!

Side note, NASCAR's 1st blunder was the fact the "Restart Zone" was NOT in the correct place! 2nd blunder was not throwing a caution when Ingrim was in the wall for 200 yards....so glad he was able to get off the track b4 they all got back

Playoffs IMO, is total BS, as are those that announce these kafuffals. I realize they have an agenda, but just watching the top racers for hours on end, does nothing for. There are some real racing and racers battling in the back of pack…but do we see nope..I record and fast forward then watch it all in 15 mins

Actually if you look at Carson And Cory Carson had the lane and Cory got the rear end light and was crossing up and was coming down right in front of Carson so as a Nascar Fan for over 50 yrs they both wanted the same spot !! I like both drivers but it was Cory's to loose and he did and the after thing should be handled inside the ring I think with all these young guns should get in the ring and learn some Respect for the sport because none of them can hold a candle to the #3 and how he did it !!Rubbing is Racing !!!
