I grew up 7 miles down the road from Troys shop, in Peotone, IL. And I've somehow never managed to ever see that car. I'm absolutely blown away. I'm speechless, that car is too perfect, and it was built right down the road from me.

Motor Trend has been bearing heavy criticism for its KZbin offerings lately, some of it deserved, some of it not, but I like this new House of Muscle series. It's tasteful and well done, and being a more mature show with an older and calmer host, it nicely balances the otherwise excitable pace of the channel's portfolio and presenters.

Mike Musto nice work on this video, as a New Yorker I appreciate how you tell a story, others may not get it or appreciate your on screen talent. What a car, the capabilities are incredible, build details are exceptional!!!Troy Trepanier is a genius, to be able to build such a multi capable machine, with the limitations that David Meyer put in place. I wish I would have had him build my Cuda....I am still crying over that one.

Square and boxy cars don't usually look good, but that rear pillar offsets the boxiness, making it one of the best looking cars Chrysler ever built. I'll bet that shape doesn't do much for the coefficient of drag - that thing is a brick. It's amazing that it can top 200 mph. Although someone (Carroll Shelby?) once said that if you had enough power you could make a brick go fast.

On of my favorite parts of this episode is the mile mark spool down. And the end too, the camera work with the music, the beautiful voice and of course .. the way that car fades into the tire smoke AND the sunset. Mike, you said Troy knocked it out of the park with the build well, I certainly agree with you there. I'm thinking you and your crew did just that .. with this episode. Oh, and Mopar is my #1

That brings back some memories. A friend my best friend in high school bought one of these in '67. It looked like a total granny car. As I recall it was a Belvedere GTX with the 426 hemi. I turned 16 the spring of 1976, and although I was never a car guy to the degree these guys were/are, I remember and appreciate cars of this styling that were on the road back in the day. This Mopar in its general form reminds me of my first ride, a ‘66 Fairlane 2 dr hardtop. It was a base model, no AC, no power steering or brakes, but it was that lite blue color of that era and had a sweet 289ci in it and would really move. I traded it for a ‘73 Yellow Gran Torino. I wish I had either of those back today, but especially the Fairlane. Anyway, I’ve digressed. This was an excellent presentation and is an exceptional car. Hats of to everyone in this video.

@NoName-OG18 жыл бұрын
General feeling I get is the roadkill is at a height, and moving to a pay rather than play market, "on demand" etc and if pay don't work, it might not play.... Let's be honest it's a watched show that's been around for the comedy not the cars really. And really jumped in viewership after top gear died, due to a good many still needing a car guy comedy fix. And click and clack despite free, also dead, (literally RIP Tommy) and on radio. So roadkill is at a premium spot in the niche, just holding it hostage for a paying market at the moment. But we're cheap, we want free....

Beautiful bass ass 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II. Love it. I can only imagine how much the bill $$$ was for this build. Masterpiece of engineering, fabrication, and assembly of parts. I'd love to drive it! Troy and the gang should be commended for the work they did, and guess they are on this video and others on youtube, and magazine articles. It was built with a no expense spared luxury budget by one of the top car builders in the world, to accomplish specific goals which were obtained, congradulations! Well done video Mike, I enjoyed this overall, including some of the history of these cars. However, .....Slab sided B-Body grandmothers car, come on dude! Seriously,, what a undeserved lame description. Last time I looked at those cars they have a nice round curve in the body all the way down. Super clean, chiseled out of granite, ripped looking is more like it! Not bloated and fat like the next generation B-Body mopars, compare to a 1968-70 Coronet, Belvedere (road runner), and Charger for that matter. Ouch! Its true, admit it. Your boring and stereotype narrative is getting old on these cars, just like the description of the 1966 Dodge Coronet you did previously. How about speaking positively about the body styling for once? The Hellcat Challenger, there is a slab sided car, flat as a pancake all the way down. Fast yes, but heavy and fat looking.

NorthernBel What is the actual weight? People keep saying 4800... however, a Bel 2 is rated at 3200-3300... I know the turbos arent that heavy and it sounds like 400lbs of sound deadener... maybe 37-3800?
@northernbel19747 жыл бұрын
kkkkiaken the actual race weight according to the scale at the end of the drag strip was 4,895 pounds. That is with me in it, in full race gear and a nearly full tank of gas. It has a 23 gallon tank, so the gasoline weighs about 142 pounds. In full race gear with a SFI fire suit, helmet, and hans device, I probably weigh about 250 pounds. Subtracting those from the race weight and rounding a little, that puts the car weight at 4,500 pounds. Compared to stock, you have to add the weight of the sound deadener, cage, 4L80e trans weight difference over a 727, the gear vendors unit, trailer hitch, parachute, turbos, intercooler, turbo tubing (all stainless steel by the way), subframe connectors, fire suppression system, Dana 60 weight difference over the 8 3/4", and the bedliner type material that is sprayed on the underside of the car.
