I lived where MT channel wasn't available and was excited to have it. It is ashame they run the same stuff over and over. It's been a month and a half not really interested in 80% of the programing.

Absolutely, I had no idea that there even was a motor trend channel. To his credit, he hasn't changed that much. But I still like the old show better.

I can't get the channel for streaming, but this show is available on hbomax. The down side is you have to wait for the end of a season to see the new stuff. Seasons 1 and 2 are available

My uncle had the sedan version. He was a southern lawyer. He told me that " if you drive a Chevy or Pontiac you don't look successful, if you drive a Cadillac you look to expensive, thats why I drive an Oldsmobile". He has done very well for himself.

AWESOME... My son had a 86 OLDS wagon, and a 87 SAFARI wagon , one went to HAWAII the other to COLORADO. he was stationed in the ARMY at the time. Hes out now after 12 years of service. Loved the wagons, great vid....MOPAR 4 EVER.

@@craigjorgensen4637they got a bad rap because of the poor factory hydraulics, but they can be made to handle high powers and you can improve hydraulics and they are really great transmissions with some help. And they have 67:1 overdrive gear and have the same footprint as a turbo 400. People that know how to build these transmissions up like they for a reason.

I was an olds guy to start with. 65 delta 88 with a 330, 66 cutlass 2 door with a 425 and Muncie 4 speed and last was a 68 442 convertible. Loved them all. Then moved to a Ford mustang and been with Ford ever since.

@@thechillhacker the 330 was only offered in one 88 model. That was the Jetstar 88 and only in 1964. It was an attempt by Olds to offer a lower price point by equipping an 88 with the F85 drivetrain. Somewhat of a morphodite, besides the 330, you got a version of the 2 speed powerglide, a rear end, steering and suspension parts specific to that car only. I’ve had two, one a bare bones radio delete base, the one I have now is fully loaded with the optional 310 horse 330 available in the 442.

Replace the aluminum rocker arm stantions. That makes all the noise you hear. I worked for 2 olds dealers in the 80,s and it was a common problem.

That's the nature of network production. Time is money. A network like Motortrend/Discovery+ has to get max views/per minute to support the profit margin. Think about it, a 22 minute show will have about the same number of viewers ans a 55 minutes show. Just that the viewers will be there longer. That doesn't always equal more sales for the advertisers.

The Oldsmobile Cutless Cruiser wagon are good rides . My Dad had a 1984 in silver with gray leather interior. Black pin striped. Olds rally wheels . Had a 3.8 auto, with plenty of power truthfully.

@@BillyWilliams-d2e Get in touch with any local dirt track racers in your area if you have any, they’re getting scarce, and they use them for track engines. Or try a local machine shop that caters to the dirt trackers. At least in our area, they bring a premium.

My family had a olds station wagon same as the one in the vid but but it was gold colored and it ran better. I miss that old car. We had it for 10 years and we've been to almost every tourist trap from Oklahoma to Washington State in that boat.

We had an 87 olds in the family. 6 cylinder, a/c, tape deck. No other options. I still miss that car. This rescue should be a long episode.

I picked up an 82 Olds wagon. Found a disassembled 72 olds 350. Rebuilt the engine with a q-jet 4bbl. It ran so good I used to tow with it.

Had an 82 Olds Delta 88 Coupe with the 307 so same car just the 2 door version. It came with 14 wheels but I put on 15s that were taller to raise it up a bit. Improved it for Sasquatchian entry and exit. That 307 was fantastic..

I know it was not a powerhouse but the Olds 307 was a dependable, workhorse that would run and run, never let me down. I had few in 81-85 Delta 88’s and Cutlass’s.

I had an 80 Delta 88 Regency Brougham 4 door. Original diesel but it puked and had a 350 rocket with the diesel trans. It was great, wish i still had it

That was my first thought when I saw the car. They had soft rocker arm bridges and it was an easy fix.

My friend helped me fix my 307 with junkyard rocker arm bridges. It was silent and I ran it hard for a couple years. Not sure why they didn't find a 350 or 403 olds instead of the 307.

I've tried explaining to Derrick before to just use a 2x2 stick of wood pressed to the ear and move it around touching things, he would know instantly if it was alternator or water pump or bottom end or top, etc. Stick it to the valve cover, the exhaust manifold, block oil pan and any spinning parts like a doctor of METAL!

Had an '83 in frost blue and dark woodgrain. 307 power with 200k already on it but babied it's entire life. It belonged to my Soutmaster. So I went on all sorts of scout trips as a kid in it. Bought it '00 loved that car.
