Agreed, motortrend is too greedy though. It'll never happen, the good old days of free dirt and roadkill are over. I had a subscription just to watch dirt and roadkill, pretty much as soon as I paid they didn't make a new dirt episode for months and roadkill changed format. Canceled pretty quick.

I have a welded diff in the back with stock axles and a 2 1/2 inch lift from rough country and 31 inch tires and I wheel everyday in nevada with no issues only over heating problems

Example of why you don’t buy Tahoes that seems way too good to be true: they usually are. I saw the original MT on demand. Truck dumped oil pressure and died quick with some heat, which tells me it was full of heavy oil that kept it from showing issues until it was too late.

we build a gen one ranger. 86 regular cab 4x4 longbed. we 4.0/5spd swapped it with manual t case, 3.73 axles from an 94/97 explorer. 4" lift and 33s. thing would go almost anywhrer.

Not an 84. The 84 had a 4 speedToyo Koygo TK4 (Code X) a Dana 28 TTB front end and 2.8 motor not a 2.9.

I just wanted to throw this question out here, since you and your subscribers are into cars so much. I have a truck that has P0601 code showing up only on cold days (40s or lower DEG F) when I try to start it first time for the day in morning. I have a tool to plug in ODBC II and reset the error, wait a minute, and then it starts up just fine. Runs and starts good all day after. If it is warmer outside on a first start for the day, next day or rest of the week, it works fine. Is there something I can do to the PCM/ECM/ECU to protect it from frost or mildew? That is my theory on why it gets the code only on cold days.

@@tallpaul9475 You require a new PCM as yours is suffering from faulty RAM. You can't just change a PCM, it has to be relearned at a dealer. Hope this helps.

@@kikurass322 It does help, but what I don't understand is why it is only a probably when it is cold weather. Low 40s DEG F it does it once in a great while. In the 30s DEG F, it happens more often. Other than that, warmer above 40s, it is fine. After I use a tool to reset it in ODBC II port, wait a minute, it will start up fine, and after warmup of driving it around a bunch, that same cold day it would work fine for the rest of the day.

Whew, in late 2021-2022, finding a “cheap” XJ in my neck of the woods (Oklahoma), that wasn’t a complete joke or death-trap, was nearly impossible. Every XJ around here (even 2wd versions) are going for, and fetching, far more than what they were selling for back when I was in high school. 2000-2003. They’re now like copies of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on NES; you don’t find a stack of them at every Vintage Stock for $5 anymore! Nostalgia surcharges.
