Anyone who give that much attention to their ride, puts in that much thought, hard work, dedication into the smallest of details, that person DESERVES RESPECT. Props to the lowrider community from this foo whose into drifting Nissans.

I grew up in Chicago, back in the mid 90's lowriding took off over there!!!! My first lowrider was a 84 Cutlass Supreme named Chupa Cabra, Roadsters for rims, candy paint with flakes, black rag top and a mural on the trunk. In 97 I moved to Nashville, Tn and there was nothing, I was the only one in the city with a lowrider, unfortunately I had to sell my car. To this day there is still no lowriders over here, but I plan to changed that. Im now searching for a Cutlass and start my dream car all over again!!!! Its in my blood, I think about it everyday!!!

@gtilover11 It's a 63-65 Buick Riveria. GM styling boss Bill Mitchell envisoned a car that was a cross between a Rolls-Royce and a Ferrari - elegant and sporty - and this was the result. It was originally intended to be badged a LaSalle for Cadillac, but Cadillac turned it down, and the design was given to Buick instead.

I only ever saw one low-rider that made me stop and think, "WOW!" It had tail-fins. That was the moment that I became a fan of tail-fins, but I didn't know enough then to actually identify what that particular car was. I still don't know what that was, but I do know that the 1967-1960 or so Chryslers (and that includes Dodge and DeSoto, but not actually not Plymouth (sorry Christine)) are just fantastic. I am admittedly a Mopar guy so there's gotta be some bias, but DAMN they're cool.

Hey MotorTrend, here's an idea for you. Since you did a coverage about "Lowriders", you have to do a segment on the movement "Hellaflush'd". I'm sure you can find just as descriptive footage to those people that flush out their car's stance. Other than that, nice job with this episode though...very interesting.

@BBoyCrownedOne Art is the perfect way to describe these different subcultures of car culture. I used to hate on these subcultures, but I do see that it takes work, special taste, and attention to detail to really appreciate all these subcultures. For example, I hate hellaflush, but understand (just as mentioned in the video) there are many sacrifices to get that stance that defines hellaflush.
@Chicano207813 жыл бұрын
@Lilmiddwest Your right man lowriders is not about gangs at all many car clubs are family oriented and do good things for the community. Also when it comes to mexicans (Mexicans are from Mexico) they didn't invent the lowrider it was Chicanos (Americans of Mexican descent.) but for a while now anyone regardless of their ethnicity can be into lowriding. That doesn't mean people should forget about it's roots.

@BBoyCrownedOne the hellaflush screws up the frame and a few other components, low riders can destroy multiple parts including the pillars for the roof crushing the car when it goes upside down. the hip hop side ruins cars by slowly rattling the car apart with the loud bass and causing more stress to the motor and transmission due to the large rotation mass caused by the big rims and very little rubber on them.

Low Riders have been celebrating American Auto Makers for over 60 years. They refurbish classic cars that were the best cars made for that era. Unfortunately the American car industry has been forced to the curb by Foreign car companies in the last few decades. Low Riders bring back the Pride Americans showed in their car making expertise. Really beautiful old cars brought back to life!

I Can't afford a classic American car here in Australia (and if I'm honest im not mechanically minded enough to build one anyway). I appreciate the artistic flair on display on these cars and I guess that's what sucked me in. As I have always understood hydraulics and lowriding go hand in hand. Not Air Ride Suspensions. I understand that is becoming the prevailing concept in feasibility of productive customs of enthusiasts seeking that type of modification to his vehicle over hydraulics largely.

Lowriders, you either hate it or love it. I particularly don't like them but they're still built cars. People put money, blood, sweat, and tears into them. Ive seen a handful of tasteful lowriders. @BBoyCrownedOne performers are expected to deal with stress if you are running on the same block that came from the showroom floor. i grew up as a gear head, grease monkey,and a pit rat. if it tells you anything my first automotive word was carburetor. i even taught myself how to drive a manual when i was thirteen, and i only missed a gear once. sorry i ran out of characters to finish in one post good point but there is good art and bad art, if anything drifting is the best of them all.
