Absolutely LOVED these cars. Haven’t seen one on the road in almost 15-20 yrs or so. Sad

I didn't even know Sterling was a brand. Guess those chances of becoming a household name weren't as good as they hoped...

I love these cars; these were beautiful cars that had a Honda drivetrain that was reliable. I would love one of these; I’d want an automatic, though..

So hard to find now a days. Had the chance to own one 15 years ago but needed way to much. I heard despite having a ton of Honda parts the electrical was a nightmare in those.

I'd still like to have one as a Sunday driver/local car show item. But with a stick, and those are vanishingly rare. (Yes, you could get the 827 SLi as a 5 speed, but not the rosewood trimmed Oxford Edition). Honda mechanicals and by the end quality actually had improved.

What the heck is a Sterling? Did they actually sell these in the UK? Never heard of the brand lol.

Its a Rover 827SLi. Top of the range in the UK was the Rover Sterling. No one in the states had heard of Rover so they just branded them all Sterling.

I had this exact car, same color, but I also had the Rover body kit and racing dynamic wheels. She fell to a deer collision on a rainy night. 😢 I miss her. She was beautiful and distinguished.

Great car, unfortunately being rushed to production to early killed it. The early cars had many quality issues. By 1990 they quality issues were gone to a point where Rover started building cars for Honda in their factory. While those late Sterlings were very good, it's reputation was already damaged. A great shame as the Mk2 proved to be a big success in Europe and was a much better car!

I dated a girl that drove one of these. I remember this vehicle having great acceleration, handling, and good mileage for the time.

This has to be the rarest car ever sold in North America. Even rarer than the (Citroen) CX AUTO. It's a Honda how bad can it be? It was bad.

Not many, anyway. I don’t think Sterling lasted more than a year or two over here. I think it left us around the time Acura redesigned the Legend it was based off of.
