Hate to say it but I agree with you. We bought a 2020 loaded Subaru Outback in fall of ‘19 and that was the first year they put in a HUGE touch screen right in the middle of the dash between the driver & passenger and we HATED it. You HAD TO take your eyes off the road to use it and it seemed like so many of the functions took two buttons to complete and there were no tactile button back-ups. The standard 4 cylinder CVT was loud and ssssslooooow and the voice recognition was utterly worthless. Got rid of it in Nov. of last year and replaced it with a top-of-the-line Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy model (one step below a Genesis) and we truly love it. Turbo 4 cylinder, no ridiculous giant touch screen and so much better in so many ways.

Most of these will probably be leased by people who have money to burn. After several years when the warranty runs out these will depreciate like a rock. I'm guessing this vehicle has over 75 computers on it, which are great when they all work in concert together. However, when the inevitable repairs are required be prepared to warm up your checkbook.
