This is the best video on KZbin for explaining rear tire hops. Under 4 minutes and answers every question I had! Thanks!

Cool advice. Just picked up a 2016 st 250 and really enjoying the bike, need to get more comfortable with popping that clutch now and bouncing the wheels around. Great way of explaining the knowledge you’ve got. Cheers 👍🏻

Thx Pat. Really appreciate the work you put in to creating these vids. Fun to watch and see how things are supposed to be done :-). Wish these were available when I was way younger, and a little bit more skilled, lol.

Thanks for the feedback Scott, glad you like them! I had Ryan Young's how to video on repeat when I was younger, so it is cool to be doing something similar today. -Pat

Fantastic. I like the methodical step-wise / component based instructional approach. Time for a trials bike.

You make the best How to video I have seen. Thank you Pat. I would also be glad to see the "standard' mistakes. Using camera to see how I do the exercises helps to compare with your's to find mistakes!

Great and unique videos. Thank you very much for your time. I am an absolute newbie in mototrials and trying to train wheelies, but I can train only for like 30mins, after that I cant feel my hands. I mean, when the bike lift front wheel to balance point my body lean so much back I cant hold my weight with my legs and literally start hanging on handlebars with my wrists. Even when I put a bike against a wall with front wheel lifted, to imitate a wheelie stance, the time I can keep the balance do limited by my wrists endurance to like 30 seconds . Is it normal for beginners and I just need to train my wrists to be able to hang on a bar as long as I can? Sorry for my English, I am from Russia. What I mean: do you need a super strong wrists to do long wheelies and wheel hops and its a question of pure muscle strength, or if you do it with the right technique and balance, you can relax your arms? Just for an info: I am in a good physical shape, riding snowmobiles every day all winter long, doing wheelies and tricks, but cant do shit on a trials. And on a snowmobile I dont need my wrists, I can stand on my legs. )

Thanks for another helpful video. You're great at making these. You make it very easy to understand. I've been practicing wheelies for the past year and i still can't hold a slow wheelie. I either run out of throttle, start to loop and have to hit the brake, or most often start tilting to one side or the other and have to set it back down. I just can't get that balance point and I've practiced a lot. Any advice?

Hi mate Congratulations from France ! I really want to learn that in Trial. That’s easy for me in bicycle, but ... 1) I don’t understant why we have to use the rear brake : clutch, throttle, pogo stick, ground, rear brake etc... This brake is a mystery for me 2) what is the process if you want to do the same thing but where you are, without moving (on the spot) Thank you and take care

Using the rear brake when you land holds the rear tire in place and keeps you from going over backwards, it also makes the bike settle smoother for more control. Hopping in one spot is very difficult. Sometimes you can do it without using any clutch, sometimes very little is needed. It depends on how high your front tire is and where your balance is when you jump up. I can not do it for long! -Pat

First time I attempted wheelies on my Gas Gas 280, I went over backwards, and broke off the back fender.
