Good samaritan dude and good review of the mic. So much information.

I too have recently bought mic Mini, and done a first impressions vid. I had the recording volume set at -10, and have a nice mix of voice and bike, but still a bit too much wind, but that was only my opinion, not that of viewers 😂. I did wonder about sticking a bit of tape over the hole, so thanks for doing this. I think helmet type/make also makes a big difference. I am using an old school AGV, which is quite “loud”, but I think all was well, even on the motorway, but still had a bit of clipping when overtaking vehicles due to the dirty air. More tiny bits of fettling required, but the potential is huge to make our lives so much easier. Well done 👍

Thanks for watching and commenting. Like you say, I'm sure the helmet will play a big part in the wind noise. The tape did dull it down a little, but I was still a bit disappointed with the tone. A friend said it didn't sound like me 😞 It is a great bit of kit though, and I'm going to keep playing with it. The next thing I'm going to try is removing the dead cat and slotting it behind the cheek pad. All the best.

@@motocradI wish my helmet had room behind the cheek pad to try, alas not. Subscribed to you, to see how you get on 👍

Have you switched to the Mini? I think I need to position it better, but I am overall very impressed, especially for the price.

@ not even looked yet waiting to see what it’s like

If I understood right, did you put a small piece of electrical tape between the holes and the wind muff to make the sound as is? It sounds well good to be fair.
@motocrad9 күн бұрын
Hi, yes, that's right, a strip of electrical tape covering the holes on the top of the mic, and then the wind muff on top 😀

I agree with your conclusion not quite there yet 👍

Thanks for watching. Yeah, shame, I need to play a bit more with the position, but I think I'll be sticking to a wired mic for now.

I think it sounds great! That noise isolating section was surreal! I agree it takes something away… I’ve just started using the mic 2, not on a motorbike though so don’t face any of the issues you do, can’t believe it’s 10 hours! The only thing I noticed was it doesn’t really sound like you! 😂 must be the tone of the mic? P.S. was the woman just rolling and turning the ignition? 😂 I’m totally with you on the equipment getting in the way of what you’re doing, you want the equipment to fade into the background whilst you do your thing! I do think it’s great though!

Thanks for this video, I am looking to buy the DJI Mini Mic, but I wanted to make sure it all works and produces good audio. Additionally, how did you mount your Osmo cam under your screen?
@motocrad7 күн бұрын
You're very welcome. The camera mount is 3D printed. I 3D printed a bracket for the Android Auto device and built a camera mount into it. The mount is fastened to the Touratech GPS mount that fits to the back of the TFT.

Was that Charles Veitch pushing the van?

It certainly was. I didn't know who he was until I published the video, and then a few friends texted me later on 😀

Hi, is it possible for you to test the mic below the seat? Just to capture the engine sound, with a cloth or a sponge so that it does not move around while riding. I'm looking for something to do that and maybe this mic will do great. Thanks!
@motocrad11 күн бұрын
Good idea, I'm not convinced it's right for the helmet. I'll try moving it around the bike to see how it performs.
@sheik951511 күн бұрын
@@motocrad If you try that, let me know how it performs.
