My humble opinion, I think no one is going to pay the same price they paid for Eternia for a playset like that. Not because it's not pretty, it's not worth it, the scale doesn't matter. Also, it is not the design we voted for.

It's awesome and looks like a ton of fun, but it's very different from the illustration we've all seen for so long (even going back to the Classics era) and it's very large. Eternia was always supposed to be huge, but I think many of us were expecting a CG/SM -sized set. This might be too big and too expensive for many to back.

I can appreciate that they took a big swing and the creativity and honestly happy for the people that love it. I thought it would be smaller and just don’t have the space for it, It’s interesting that over at Mattel Barbie the majority have been asking for a doll size movie dream house and we got a mini one and in this case it’s a bit of the opposite where I’m assuming lots wish this was smaller.

As someone who loves the Snake Men, they deserve better. Hopefully this is just a prototype as it looks very rushed and nothing like the concept art which fans voted on. The snake on the side tower doesn't even have belly scales.

Definitely a pass on this. First problem is it's nothing like the design that was voted for. The second issue is the choice of colors here. I'm not going to say what the base color reminds me of, but it's not good LOL! I mean maybe if they would have went with a more consistent color scheme it would have had more appeal to me. I think the worst part is that I was expecting a gothic/medieval snake themed castle and what they designed was a "Rainbow Snake Playground". I'm sure the price will be just as crazy as the color scheme.

This is awesome looking. The bigger the better. I would definitely buy this one. Compared to Grayskull, this one definitely has more detail. the fact that it has 3 sections to unfold is awesome. makes it look so much better. A little dry brushing would help. What a great addition.

Well i feel like they really missed the mark with this. 🫤 1.) It's unnecessarily big. They should have kept it in scale with SM and CGS. 2.) It looks almost fan made. Like they just slapped any snake motif laying around on it and made sure it was green, yellow, and brown. 3.) It feels hollow and soulless. There's no through line vision or story feel to it. It's like 4 different guys in separate rooms made there own parts of the set and they just pushed it all together. 4.) Im certain the price point will be unjustified. I would be happy to pay $100- 150ish (tolerated $200+) but i already feel like this is going to be $250-300+. (No way am I paying Eternia prices. That said they are a few cool things but over all it's kind of a big cluster F'. They went too long with the mock image we've grown accustomed to and it's very very different.

I have been onboard for so much of what the MOTU Origins Team have done to date. Its been a really fun ride down the nostalgia trail, which I always thought was the point. But I've grown weary of these off ramp creations with the snake characters, which hit rock bottom with this monstrosity. This is NOT what was originally submitted from the concept art. Not even close. And honestly it looks like a mishmash of every playset ever made, just shamelessly thrown together without much rationale to justify what will surely be an overpriced piece of plastic. EASY PASS. If the MOTU Team are reading these replies... PLEASE focus on the original nostalgia line so we can finish that series. This is only burning people out. And who has room for another gigantic playset like this? Origins is about recreating the past. Lets finish that assignment. Thanks for all your hard work.

Honestly, was expecting something else (artwork related). This set is too large like eternia scale. If the pricepoint of this is around 150-250, i am ok with it, otherwise i can not justify the space and money. Eternia had the nostalgia associated with it, this one has not and diverges from concept arts. Guess they pointed for big and chuncky for dollah dollah eternia type prices, which honestly can not see the justification for such monstrosity.

We live in a sad time when a billion-dollar toy company can't afford to make toys anymore and has to ask the people to cough up the dough first. I really, really don't want to be a downer, but I call bullshit on the whole scheme. And while I'm complaining, what the utter heck was that Two-Bad situation earlier today? Gone in 30 seconds? What happened to the "if someone wants a figure, they will get a figure" speech we've heard last year after we had a similar snafu? Mattel, put your goddamn money where your mouth is. Make enough figures already. And stop with those damn Creations exclusives - you obviously have no problems cooking up new molds (Turtles of Grayskull) and shipping them off to retail, so why is it so bloody difficult to produce the rest of the missing vintage line at scale?

I voted for the FZ, this was my 2nd choice. I would get it if it was smaller and not over accessorized. Also the tech side doesnt go with the reat of the playset. A little tech like grayskull is fine. The snake face in the front needs to blend into the structure not stick out like it was slapped on. I hope this is a prototype to guage fan reaction.

I really love the Snakemen and the lore around them, so when we had the chance to vote for the next sets and I saw the concept art for the Snake Lair, I was sold. The concept art had a dry desert feel to it and it felt appropriate to Snakemen line. But this, this isn't what I voted for. As others have said, this is too big, too clunky and it feels out of place. The concept art looked like it would be about the size of Greyskull, not bigger than Snake Mountain. And since it's a crowdfunder, chances are good it's going to be overpriced, the same reason I didn't get Eternia, I was priced out. Thanks Mattel.

Instead of fright zone or doom tower we get this, which I already was on the fence about but instead is a way, way worse design than the art. That art needed a little work but at least the front facade was solid. Theres a few neat things here- the vehicle, the snake holding torture chamber- but overall it looks pretty bare, not cohesive, and very disappointing.

The lair doesn’t look MOTU at all for me neither, belongs to another line trying to act like MOTU, everything about it gives me this strange unrelated vibe…I never thought I would dislike it so much even though I didn’t have any high hopes for this project, even from the concept art they showed us. What I am seeing goes to prove that they just can’t design MOTU like the artists of the past…And I have passed on all non-vintage Snakemen as well, even though the original snakemen are my favorite faction from MOTU since childhood.
