I was diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic in Jan. 2023. The same month I was prescribed Mounjaro 5mg. It’s now Sept. 2023 and I’ve lost 50 pounds and have an A1C of 5.9. While 5.9 is still considered pre-diabetes, I’m well on my way to having a normal A1C range on my next check-up. Type 2 diabetes can be reversed if you take action early, change your diet and long term lifestyle.

Excellent video. Very informative. I am 60 year old male who has struggled with weight for the past two decades. I was prescribed Mounjaro off-label as art of my participation in the Calibrate program. I am currently on my last dosage of the 7.5 mg pen and will be starting the 10 mg regimen next week. I have lost 42 lbs. in the past 11 weeks with only minor constipation as a side effect. I have mitigated the constipation by taking probiotics and digestive enzymes. Mounjaro has changed my life for the better.

@@tahirachanneluk1801 I have eliminated added sugars from my diet and try to keep carbohydrates to 130 grams daily. In addition I don’t eat processed foods, soft drinks, flavored yogurts, desserts, etc. I eat all vegetables with the exception of white potatoes and yucca/cassava. I also eat 25-30 grams of fiber daily. I do 60-75 minutes of cardio daily, 6 days a week, lift moderate weights twice a week, and do one hour of yoga weekly. It’s been a complete lifestyle change but so far I am down 56 lbs or about 27 kgs. in less than 5 months. I am currently training for the Camino Frances or the Way of St. James as it is called in the UK. Over the course of 34 days I will walk approximately 790 kms this summer. The medication I take is Mounjaro made by Eli Lilly laboratories. It is a tirzepatide and differs from Saxenda, Wegovy, and Ozempic which are all GLP-1. I will be on the meds for another five weeks and then hope to keep the weight off by sticking to the same eating plan I am on at this time. Good luck to you. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

I am a Type 1 Diabetic for 36 years and have been injecting insulin over the past 28 years. 8 years ago, I started using the insulin pump, which helped improve my glucose levels. I am overweight and have been struggling over the last 5 years with weight gain and requiring more daily insulin. I started Mounjaro 8 weeks ago, and as of date, my HgAIC has gone from 8.4 to 7.4, I have lost 12 lbs. and there has been a significant improvement with my daily blood sugars. This medication has been amazing and I look forward to more positive results in the future!

I just started taking 5mg I started with 2.5 and let me tell you the sulfur burps were the worst of any side effect! Finally those have gone away and that hard boiled egg smell of burps are no more. I’ve lost 12 lbs on the 2.5mg and continue to lower my weight on the 5mg along with my glucose and A1C have decreased!

I've been on Mounjaro now since September but had trouble titrated up to 5mg so I am staying on 2.5 because of the GI side effects. Because of the GI side effects, I'm not sure if I am losing weight because of the GI issues or because of the medication. BUT I have had a really great anti-inflammatory side effect from the medication which has improved my mobility and lowered my BP. I'll definitely take that! And how it lowers the food anxiety part of the brain. That is fascinating to experience.

Very helpful! Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I took Ozempic for 12 weeks but discontinued due to debilitating diarrhea. It was disappointing because Ozempic worked very well for controlling hunger. I was then switched to Trulicity. I tolerate Trulicity quite well, but it doesn't help much for controlling hunger. My A1C has gotten better with the Trulicity, but my weight is still significantly affecting my diabetes. I am thinking of asking my doctor to try Mounjaro. I'm hoping that it will work for me.

I’ve just found your site. Thank you so much for such a comprehensive, informative review. I’m on ozempic 1 mg and hasn’t helped with my appetite, I’m type 2 diabetic. At my next review coming up shortly I’m going to ask about the 2.4 dose and if that doesn’t work Moinjaro…..fingers crossed I can get my debt nurse on board… when it becomes available in the U.K. it’s either than or bariatric surgery ( eek ! ) which is my last last last resort ….. thank you very much again. I've been on 2.5 mounjaro for 9 weeks. My A1C has gone from 6.8 to 5.6. My physician says I need to stay on 2.5 or my blood sugar levels will go to low. Is that how Moungaro works? Will it keep lowering my A1C? I'm not on any other diabetic medicine. I was hoping to go to 5 since I'm starting to crave sweets again and I have stayed the same weight for two weeks now. Can you explain if it would cause low blood sugar if I move to 5? Thank you!

I had to stop using ozempic. Both my legs broke out all over with massive hives that would not go away. I stopped using ozempic, and it took 2 to 3 months for it to fully get out of my system and the hives to go away. Afraid of taking any of diabetic meds as that was absolutely horrible dealing with the hives. Are these the same medicine contents?

Is this drug available everywhere in USA? And will Medicare cover it for Diabetes? I have been on Ozempic since February 2022, but it is not available where I live right now and won't be till the year's end. My doctor started me on Trulicity, but it is not working for me like the Ozempic did.

Sorry, they are not equivalent. 5ng Mounjaro is a relatively lower dose compared to 2mg of Ozempic which is the highest.

Can you continue taking mounjaro if your A1C goes to 4.8 but fasting glucose is about 120

Theoretically you can, as long as you are not experiencing any hypoglycemic issues. It will all boil down to your individual clinical profile, which your doctor will assess and advise. It’s interesting how relatively low of an A1C you have considering your fasting BS is around 120. Will be a good idea to make sure you are not dipping too low during the day. All the best.

I have PCOS and my endocrinologist prescribed this medication to me. I don’t have diabetes. The 5mg is to strong so I’ll be going back down to the 2.5mg. But it really works with controlling the hunger and sweet cravings and weight loss.
