Thank you for this, I've been wondering about this, I was able to get somewhat of a half an extra dose, but there was always some left and I hate waste when I pay so much for the medicine and I'm struggling so much financially that I'm barely eating. Hi lovely, I hope you're doing well today. Had my second dose yesterday and already planning my 5th. Their are a couple of pharmacies that include a syringe for the 5th dose in your order. I think it's not so much that its frowned on, more that they can't legally advise it. If on the normal dosing schedule by the manufacture it's safe per their sterility 30 days advice. I've started calling MJ my liquid gold. Incredibly expensive yet is having a wonderful impact on my health in ways i didn't expect ❤

Hi, we had almost the same starting weight and your a few weeks ahead of me in this journey so I love following your progress and tips 😊 I just did my “fifth dose” today using insulin injection needles, I know you aren’t a doctor but just wanted your opinion on this because you seem knowledgeable, so I accidentally ordered 0.5ml insulin pens instead of 1ml so I had to use two needles (One was full with .5ml of liquid and the second needle was 0.22ml) and I injected one after the other (a few cm apart) In your opinion is this a ok way to do it? Hello thank you for your lovely comment I’m so happy that you like my content and find it helpful! As far as using two needles for the doses I think you should be fine. So long as you don’t use the same needle twice I don’t see what harm it could do; especially if it wasn’t in the same injection site. Like you say I’m not a doctor though this is just my opinion but I think that it should be about fine. Thank you again for being here 🥰

Very informative, thank you. If you're "breaking" the pen then you can see how much has gone in so if there's a bit left you have had a full dose. I guess that if it runs out short of 0.6ml the pen stop short as the plunger wouldn't move and you could see how far it had gone down and gauge from that how much you have taken? I'll find out myself in a couple of weeks, as for telling people, I have nobody to tell! 😂 My work colleagues might notice but we're doing it for ourselves so people don't need to know...

The only issue I see with Lily changing things would be that they would have to redesign the pen to hold less liquid? With current supply issues I’m inclined to think that that may be too much hassle! I genuinely think that these medications will eventually come in vials which will take away the extra doses. It’s definitely interesting and I’m intrigued about what the future of these medicines will be! Thanks again for your comment x

Eli Lilly will have an earnings call next Tuesday (April 30). During it, there are likely to discuss the vials and upcoming plans for many of their markets, US, Europe, and others. If very curious about such things, I’d follow it closely. 👍

Hello 🥰 was the 5th dose 0.9ml? If so that is roughly 3.75mg dose. If you are wanting to double up and make it 5mg total you just need to express the liquid until it’s at the 0.6ml line. Hope this helps! ❤️

Great video - thanks. I had two pens break on me by itself. So basically new pen, pluncher stuck - so I am glad there is a good solution. I am at the highest dose atm so I wouldn't want to put more in then I should so method 2 with syringe will work for me.

I saw someone on reddit saying they used a towel and force twisted it to get the 5th dose without having to extract the liquid. Lucky that they send 7 needles instead of 4 like Wegovy does. Sounds a bit riskier than using an insulin syringe as I feel you could break the pen and lose the extra dose, but potentially slightly more sterile.

Do you get the needles when you buy the pen? We don't get any needles with the pen in Spain, I just had to pay 25€ extra for 100 of them. They are 32G and 6mm... Binge watching your videos to gather the courage to inject myself, I hate needles....

I’ve watched twice but not sure on this answer so hoping you can advise please. So for example, you’re taking the 2.5ml on Friday, you’ve just finished the fourth dose and planning the 5ml for your next pen. When do you take the extra dose of the 2.5ml pen…is it a full week after your fourth 2.5ml dose. Just asking due to the 30 day warning etc. Thank you.

@@sm1lerno1 you just take it at your next scheduled dose. Your first dose is day 1 and the 30 days starts from there. I wouldn’t worry too much about the 30 day warning either - I’ve spaced out a 7.5mg pen for nearly 6 weeks before with no adverse effects. Just remember to practice cleanliness at all times - clean with alcohol wipes, new needles each time etc and it will be fine. The warning is more of the drug losing efficacy rather than bacteria growth.

@@Bejeweledbyha hello don’t worry I’m here to help if I can! All the pens come with a 5th dose in it that needs extracting. The doses can vary between 0.4ml and 0.9ml depending on a few factors. An official dose is 0.6ml. If you want to take your regular dose you need to extract 0.6ml from the last 5th dose in the pen. All mounjaro pens contain the 5th dose. Hope that helps ❤️

Zava reviews on trust pilot is a little bit disappointing especially delivery. How’s the delivery process for you?

I’ve had no issues with them what so ever. The delivery used to be a bit pricey at £8.99 but it’s now gone down to £3.99. They send it via Royal Mail special delivery and I’ve always received mine the day after dispatch. It comes in a wool insulated bag with cold packs and it’s well protected. To be fair if the delivery goes wrong it’s not really down to Zava it’s down to Royal Mail and I think they combat this by not sending cold items over the weekend to ensure the medication doesn’t get too warm if it cannot be delivered. I can’t say how they are for smaller items but they’ve been great with mounjaro! Thank you so much for your comment I hope this helps ❤️

Hello thanks for being here and for your comment. Technically yes, however the 5th dose is usually a little bigger than the regular dose so the 5mg could actually be 6mg and the 7.5mg dose could be 8mg so if you were to combine them you would need to make sure that you were taking 0.6ml of each 5th dose to get the correct 12.5mg. Also worth bearing in mind that the pens aren’t recommended to be used past 30 days once opened. Regarding knowing how much medication you’re getting if you use the break pen method, if you still prime the pen first and then after breaking it, twisting until the 1 shows in the dosing window, doesn’t that twist until 1 shows mechanism measure a full & normal dose of 0.6ml? I’ve only just started (had dose 1 three days ago) and it looks like I have gone with the most expensive provider in the UK 😢. Got drawn in by an advert, researched on their website pages, didn’t then go the next step of looking up alternative providers to compare prices. So I will be looking to see how I can transfer my prescription elsewhere (cheaper) without disrupting my schedule or titration plan.

You will need to prime your pen every time you use it. If you check out my kwik pen video I show how to do this but essentially you need to hold the pen with the needle facing the ceiling, tap it gently a couple times, turn the bottom for two clicks and then prime the needle by pressing the button until it resets. This releases a little bit of the medicine and any air bubbles present. Hope that helps thank you for being here ❤️

According to Lilly the doeses are all per 0.5ml of injectable liquid. So with your 0.7ml you are going over your required dose.

Because the 5th dose varies in amount. A dose is 0.6ml but the 5th dose can be anything from 0.4ml all the way up to 0.9ml. I do talk about this at length in the video which you must have missed.
