I have the same wall mount and a 55” Samsung that I’m trying to mount..my stud finder is giving me false alarms! When I put the lag screws in where it initially said there was a stud, the screws were starting to come out as soon as I tested it by moving the mount side to side like it suggested.. so now I’m looking for other studs in my wall, located them, but when I drill the bit in, I am not hitting wood or anything hard like I was told I should hit. I’m at a loss and now I’m regretting trying to do this on my own entirely...ahhh!!!
@BTheInstaller4 жыл бұрын
You gotta find a stud with this bracket. I have a stud finding video. There are studs left or right of power outlets and normally 16 or 24 inches each way from there
@lilyg61364 жыл бұрын
B The Installer thanks so much for responding..I’m still drilling holes searching for studs..I think I may have finally found a stud?? It was a little harder drilling with the bit..so I’m now going to attempt to mount my mount with the lag screws and see if it does the same thing or not..

Use a magnet to find the drywall screws and then to be extra sure drill little pilot holes so you can find the edges of the studs

I have a 50-inch Samsung with a Sanus and I'm installing it outside on stucco and cinder block wall. Also, I need about an inch off the wall do the TV will extend completely flat. Is it OK to mount a 2x4 or other wood to the wall 1st then the bracket? And if so what type of screw or hardware is used going into stucco a d blocks?

Great video. For 40 inch and other mid size TVs do you prefer to go with single stud mounts like this one or two stud mounts like the sanus slf226? For my install I have a stud centered on where I want the TV.
@BTheInstaller4 жыл бұрын
Either will work. If you get a dual stud type you can pin the middle still. And add toggle bolt top left and right and its plenty strong. Many don't have that perfectly centered stud. I don't use these single stud mounts often, I normally use one with range so I can hit the stud where needed and center tv.
@SourPatchKid5624 жыл бұрын

NEED HELP! The instructions say I need a 1/8th 3mm drill and that the hole needs to be 2 3/4 or 70mm deep well my drill bit only goes about 1in deep do i need a longer drill bit or what? Im so confused. I thought i had the same mount in this vid but u said urs said u needed a 1/4 bit?
@BTheInstaller4 жыл бұрын
You need to drill as deep as the bolt goes and the bit size would be the same as the bolt not including the threads. So the bolt and bit same size less the thread diameter.
@palealejedi4 жыл бұрын
Mmm im lost i tried all night to get this tv up. Will try again tomorrow thanks for your help. U would think the drill bit size would just be clearly described in the instructions? also is there a sure fire way to know i hit a stud? My top bolt became loose after trying to readjust to better level and now i am not sure if its stud im pretty sure i see wood but the bolt just wont stay on. Maybe too much readjusting?
@BTheInstaller4 жыл бұрын
Studs are very solid. If loose it could just be plywood which is thin and then bolts will not stay tight. Also the hole drilled could be too large. Needs to be exact. 3/16 and 1/4 are common. Be safe.
@palealejedi4 жыл бұрын
B The Installer well my instruction manual says 1/8 why do u keep dodging that? I am using the same mount in the video and my instruction manual says 1/8 why are you saying 1/4?? Should i be using 1/4?? Thanks for replying i appreciate it

Use the 1/8" bit then. I have no idea what your mount says. They change hardware and instructions over time. That was a video from nearly a year ago... should have info in the instructions.

Can you comment on the likelihood of hitting cinder block if trying to hang the mount on a wall that is a corner room? I am having trouble getting the drill bit to the recommended depth.
@BTheInstaller4 жыл бұрын
Well what I can say is that you need at least 1 inch depending on the kind of mount. Any arm mount needs a typical 2x4 to sink into. So over 2 inches. When drilling, you should have a good idea of what is behind the wood. If there is space between studs, drill though drywall and check the depth. Even 1 5/8 drywall screws can be used to secure mount with washers... so maybe I'll make a video

Im mounting 43 inch tv outside in a palapa bar, I need the mount to be horizontal to mount to wood beam. Is it possible to use this mount horizontally?
@BTheInstaller4 жыл бұрын
No, it will just slam down. You can get a ceiling mount to hang from a beam or any normal flat mount with downward tilt can be hung off the bottom of the side of the beam and the tv, depending on the brand.. i have done this, I don't have image but both can be done

I don't the you need the lines to the lower hole. You just need to put the top hole in, at the right height, and on the stud. Then for the lower hole, just put your level on the side of the mount, and screw in the screw.

Thanks for the non tutorial. You don’t show when your attaching the brackets on the back of the tv nor do you show what your talking about when hanging the tv on the bracket. There are a lot of people who are visual and seeing the steps your talking about makes it easy. Your camera person should have known. Looking at the top of your head or your back does not help.
