I had the experience of seeing Bill paint, almost accidentally,in about 1965 in Vancouver. We went to the annual PNE, my three sons and I! In the basement of the old BC Building was this gent, talking a blue streak and firing paint at a canvas. It was Bill Alexander demonstrating his unusual technique. He finished the landscape painting in the hour we stood and watched. I was excited to see the demonstration and spent some time talking to him. He inspired me to take up oil painting when I retired from a business career. . L

Magic white is not other thing but titanium white diluted at the rigth consistency to easily spread it tru the whole canvas to just leave a thin layer as a base to start painting on it.

I love Wilhelm but this one isn't up to par for him. The mountain just seems to have fallen from space and landed in the middle of the lowlands. It really doesn't look natural.
