Your video series on the StarLink comparison are very well done and informative. Thank you! I see on the TRIO Flatmount website options for suction cups and VHB Landing Pads and Release Lever. I'm curious why you didn't consider these options. Obviously you didn't feel they would provide proper purchase. My application would be on the Coachroof non-skid, so suspect it just won't stand the test of time and rough seas.

Good looking set up. To remove heat gun on weld mount will usually soften the epoxy enough to do minimal deck damage . obviously protect the rest of deck from the heat of gun. A powerful soldering iron might provide enough heat too. I have similiar mounts that have threaded holes in them so you can use different length bolts for you application. Cheers warren

Great idea! I’m a big fan of 3M VHB tape. I mounted my solar panels to my boat with it. 3 years they’re still there.

Outstanding, and I agree with others that there are many cases where this type of mounting could be the right choice. I'm thinking the flexible solar panels that I have that I'm considering putting on my cockpit cover. Could you have used 3M 4200 for strength and removability?

I have a visceral response to the idea of drilling holes in either floating, below the waves or flying craft. However, I never want to hear, "...I don't know sir, it was there and now it's not...". Time will tell Jon, if you shouldn't have used a few rolls of Duct Tape or Duck Tape if you prefer. Made famous by genius Canadian Red Green. And it won't harm the Gelcoat... Have a great week U2!
