Mountain Biker Attempts The Everest Challenge! | Climbing Mount Everest's Total Elevation

Everesting - the act of climbing the total elevation of Mount Everest, 8,848m, in one ride on a bicycle. At the Forest of Dean; this equates to 82 laps, a fireroad climb rises 108m followed by a technical off road descent back to basecamp. Henry, a man with the drive and fortitude (and some might say insanity) to take on this epic ride from the early hours to the late night, rose to the occasion.
Sit back and grab a drink - this one's a good one!

As someone who's done 4 Everestings (one of those on a fixed gear) and is also an avid mountain biker, I can say with all certainty that this is HEAVY. MTB Everesting is such a gnarly idea. Not just doing all that climbing on an enduro bike, but having to ride that techy descent that many times, cleanly, under that much fatigue??? Kudos.
@tornado34

Well done, what a great attitude to a difficult personal challenge. Too many people want to cheat, shortcut, hack or pull others down rather than commit and stick to doing what can be so difficult. The reward for those who dig deep within themselves is priceless. Many, many people could learn a lot from taking the sentiment from this achievement. A genuine achievement - much respect. 👍🏻

Brings back feels. end of this summer me and two friends decided to ride 457 km on access roads in two days. all of us were pretty fit, and hopped on our cx bikes to start riding. 31 hours of riding later( 14 the first day, 17 the second), the other two finished, my bike having torn the threads out of a crank 330 km in. there were certainly some low points, like the moto shredded sand whoops that took two hours to cover 15 km in, but also some incredible highs, rolling into each little bit of civilization as we travelled through the wilderness. this is the same, the kind of utterly stupid, will testing experience that will make u smile for the rest of your life. P.S, we plan on riding it straight and sleepless next year. thanks for inspiring adventure henry!

To be honest in the beginning I was thinking what is Henry talking about? Is he quoting poetry? Then as the video went on .... I got it. I felt it too. I've been there ... well ok not 8,000 plus mtrs in one day, but the psychological battles and immense sense of achievement. Henry, you converted me. Not just the video but you, that was inspirational. You know the video was good when you get annoyed when it finished, would have watched that if it was the full day. Well done Henry and well done for recognising the team behind the scenes. ❤

Incredible effort - Inspiring stuff..... not just the effort and the achievement but the attitude that went with it. In my experience, most endurance challenges come down to if your head is in the right place more than your body. Convincing yourself to keep going is more than half the battle.
