I’m not a cyclist these days, walking is my limit. Your Hx of the bothy was something I’ve never thought about? Really like your being. Video was very inspiring indeed. My walks I’ve started to add to KZbin, Scotland has some stunning remote vistas and your bike destinations are drawing me to get out again ~ weather just now isn’t favourable 🌧 for me personally. I live in Wester Ross, so I have the highlands on my doorstep. If you are ever up this way maybe give me a shout 🥱

What a great video. One year ago I've backpacked through Scotland for about 3 months. I set myself the challenge to spend as many nights in as many different bothies as possible. Went up to 50 nights in 42 different huts. I absolutely loved my time doing so. I moved around by hiking and hitchhiking and the feeling to step through a door of a bothy for the first time is amazing. I'll be back in a few weeks to spend another 5 weeks in this wonderful country. Really looking forward to it. Cheers

Wonderful! You have so many gifts, thank you for sharing. I was expecting adventure and hoping for great cinematography, and you delivered both. Amazing film! Yes, it's so important to respect a Bothy because if you do it will make one a better person in life. The scenery you shot is a sumptuous feast for the eyes. The Scottish Highlands really are a gem in the British isles the last bastion of glorious wilderness. I'm slightly nervous of the highland cows as they have horns like Spanish bulls but that said, I'm prepared to risk my life to experience exceptional beauty!

Great video! I recognised a whole lot of the mountains and glens and have stayed in quite a few bothies myself. Sometimes you do indeed have the place to yourself, sometimes not. I once stayed in Sourlies on Knoydart with 14 other people I didn't know and I was the only one who had walked in over the mountains. The others had come by boat or walked along the shoreline from Inverie. You have read the cult book Mountain Days and Bothy Nights? Another enthusiast for the music of Ireland and Scotland? I have watched quite a few videos. Some are very good but most of them have free and unlicenced KZbiny kind of music and if you are trying to set the scene for the location, how much better can you get than the real music. Slainte.

Alastair! Thank you so much for this video! I've (from Edmonton, Canada) been starting to make plans to do a solo biking trip in Scotland, for the summer of 2018. I'm purchasing a bike in advance, from Shand (built in Livingston). I'll get them to size me for the bike, and ride it out their doors, and go from there! I'm hoping to go for 3-4 weeks. And then, i saw this video from you. It confirms me, that yes, i'm making a good choice for my next adventure! I'll need to do some research on the bothy's, as that indeed looks like something i'd like to experience. You're an inspiration! Thanks, again, mate!

Magic video, just back from staying in a wee secret bothy ourselves, so know what you mean about the hard to find ones being the most rewarding!
