A more involved and exciting derailment. In other words the kind of derailment that leads to all the train cars derailing.

Imagine having to spend hours cleaning small bits of coal off the layout after a derailment.

Very helpful video, but the audio is a bit hard to hear, so here are some clarifications based on my experiences, and from common hobby knowledge. NSmodeler24, jump in if I've got anything wrong. Note: all the paints and thinner mentioned are enamel-based. If you want to use acrylics, everything would have to be water-based. steps: 1. He says they painted the plastic model pieces first with red spray paint, which is enamel based. Lots of people use Rust-oleum flat red primer, which looks a lot like brick. Krylon also makes red colors. 2. He says they spray painted the red brick color with Krylon Matte Finish after the red spray paint and before the mortar is applied. Testor's Dullcoate will work, too. Let each coat dry for at least 12 hours between steps. 3. The white paint he mentions is "Floquil" brand which is an oil-based enamel paint. Tamiya lacquer base paint would work as well. They thin it 50/50 with paint thinner (AKA mineral spirits or white spirits in the UK). .

I have this exact same scaletrains locomotive road number and all, would this work on that one aswell, as far as the windows popping out and handrail removal?

Wonderful stuff as always. Are there drawings/diagrams/maps current or past of the Asheville and Old Fort rail yards? I moved to the area and thought that might be a nice project to model.

Fantastic job with the scenery. When I played the video, it looked like the train had a slight forward jerking motion that never ceased. Was this a video recording issue or a train control problem?

Most interesting... Most ineresting! I always wondered how difficult it would be to renumber a loco, and it seems you answered the question for me! I hope to put this info to good use someday on a Big Boy to renumber it to a fantasy number 4025.

Thank you for the video. This is a fantastic demonstration of what some extra time can result in. Growing up in a railroad family in a railroad town, I see trains all the time and have been a railfan for most of my life, albeit no longer a modeler. I get to live vicariously through videos like this.
