Welcome back. If you want Military MRE packets to heat up to eating temperature, pick up a couple of small chemical hand warmers from your local sport shop. As a clinical chemist I can explain the process simply. The packet contains iron powder, water and a salt that when activated, by squeezing, forms iron oxide. The heat of formation from the controlled reaction by the amount of oxygen provided will heat the pack to 100-180 degrees F. Try putting the hand warmer in the warming bag with the MRE. The heating packs for the MREs didn't work well even back when they were new.

Just a helpful tip 👌🏼strip setting will get you more hook ups, there’s a lot more bend in a fly rod than a spinning rod, therefore less pressure on the fish allowing it to spit the fly, by stripping while you set, you allow for more instant pressure on the fish this technique can be used all the time, but is typically used more when you’re letting the fly suspend without drifting 🫡 tight lines and keep making your amazing content!!!
