It's not unusual for Jay Peak to beat many western resorts dur to orographic lift. That said, they're snow reporting/counting has been known to be..... shall we say..... rather optimistic.

This pattern we're seeing in northern VT is where they get the most of their snow... W/NW upslope flow with a very subtle signature- the global models don't do it justice. Big storms are very much secondary.
