He was able to get plenty of views when he was alive and his channel grew A LOT in the last couple of years. He was about to collaborate with a KZbinr that has over 12 million subscribers, just collaborated with Jay Cutler, and probably would have gotten together with other big names to increase his audience. Such an ignorant comment given with zero evidence.

Rarely do I get upset when someone I don't know very well dies but im absolutely crushed at his passing. He was a very good man. I talked with jim a few times by email and he is as straightforward in person as on his videos.

As I was getting used to the idea he is gone 2 things happened: someone started uploading on his channel and my grandmother died (we were close...). RIP to both.

I started watching John's videos because he was the first person I found that wasn't an egotistical a-hole. He didn't feel the need to curse, yell or make fools of people to get his point across. It was straight up quality information and teaching. John will be terribly missed.

I have lifted weights for 20+ years and honestly didn’t think I had much more to learn. I was wrong, I learned a lot from John. He will be missed, thank you for keeping this channel and John’s legacy alive.

All my training is based on John’s videos and has been for a number of years and it is hard for me too watch and absorb like before but watch and absorb I will. John was and still is so inspiring. Continued prayers of comfort for John's family and friends and the guy everyone forgets about, his 'homeless buddy', Brett, who was pretty much a constant companion. Thanks to the Mountaindog folks for continuing John's legacy and continuing to post these.

I've never commented on anyones KZbin videos in my life but this dude is extremely educated and very beneficial to anyone in this game. Do yourself a favor and really dig through this guy's videos and study this shit, implement his strategies, and execute it. You will be amazed of the knowledge of this guy, it will show in your results.

I watch so many fitness youtubers weekly and try to utilize as many tips and tricks as I can but John's tips always stuck with me the most. I still remember when he mentioned that decline bench plate trick from many videos ago and i continue to use it on my chest days. Absolute legend, thank you for continuing to upload his content. REST IN POWER JOHN💪

Love to see the channel still going. I bet the legend has tons of content that we have never even seen yet. It's also even more amazing since he is literally still teaching & helping others even beyond this Earth. AND his family will continue to be supported through these videos as well. Although it does nothing when it comes to taking away the pain & heartache of losing a husband / father, but it can help major burdens that often come about aside from the trauma itself. All the best to the Meadows family.
