How long do you expect the wooden rebar the last when it is fully below the surface and sealed up I know the piers in London bridge lasted several hundred years when they were married well and I know that fence posts like to ride only at the surface. Nice to see a like minded thinker. It’s like an old mentor told me a long time ago, he basically said: “it takes more than just being an equipment operator, cause anybody can learn the controls and operate the machine… it takes skill, experience and intuition to know what to do with the dirt once you scoop it up…”

This might be a painful question, but do you get paid for these kinds of jobs, or do you do it out of kindness to others, so they will be there for you when the time comes? I'd like to know more how communities like this operate, if, for instance, you have some sort of bartering system set up where you trade goods and favors, eggs for beef for instance.
@MountainMapleRanch
@MountainMapleRanch Жыл бұрын
He hired me for this job and I gave him a substantial discount from my normal rates since it's literally across the road from me. If it were a quick help with something then its usually a matter of "help me, I'll help you" and if it is something like the main road that we all need to have operational, then we all just pitch in whatever our skills or availability allows. Its all case by case.

All that plant matter you mixed into what you think is a bank will rot in the next year or two and all of what you fixed will become lose and sink. If you want to make a road/dam that will last it has to be water proof "Clay" or made of rock. That originally washed out so bad because it had a lot of sand in it.
