How your channel doesn't have several million subs baffles me. Long time watcher first time commenter here. Just moved down to England after my own Munro journey this summer. Thanks for bringing a taste of home every now and then.

James can't beat a 3 summit day. We did An Socach yesterday in some gnarly winter conditions and could see down into Loch Nan Eun which is a remote spot right enough (used it as the descent spot from Carn na Righ). Wondered how you could tag Beinn Lutharn Mor and Carn Bhac from An Socach but your route makes more sense.

I missed the opportunity to cycle along glen Ey and do one or two of these munros last June due to poor weather (I got 5/7 days overcast with extensive hill fog when I stayed in Braemar). You can tag on two more munros, Carn an Righ and Glas Tulaichean on your route although that makes it a beast of a day.

These hills are far from boring. Eagles nest in the coire of Beinn Iutharn Mhor and one of my fondest memories is watching a juveline dive about 400 metres and bagging a hare. Probably the most spectacular moment of my Munro round.
@ScottishMunroJourney2 жыл бұрын
Exactly - I love the solitude and remote feel these hills give us. That must have been fantastic to see Iain Cheers, James

Nice one for squeezing in An socach.. did that one a few times in the winter but never the summer! Cracking vid mate and btw that’s a lot of bikes 🤣

Thought it would save a lot of driving tagging that one on 😂 cheers pal, it was! But didn’t see many people at all 😂

I'm looking at making An Socach my 20th munro which is my target for the year and I think a decent one given I was at 2 just a month ago. Debating a bike and hike to add on if the early October weather permits. I'm working until midnight most days which buggers up the necessary early starts. Looks like an easy enough day out with the bike.
@ScottishMunroJourney Жыл бұрын
Hi Jamie, yes easy enough with the bike 😁 I think you can also do An Socach from a different start point (Glen Clunie) but not sure about the bike from there.. Enjoy!

I agree that these Munroes have something about them in their own way. A sort of "bulk" to them that some of the more "pointy" Munroes don't always have perhaps?
@ScottishMunroJourney2 жыл бұрын
Exactly 😁 they have a different feel about them..

The good thing about rolling hills like this is that you can often summit several of them without losing much height between summits that you have to regain. The less good thing is that if the clag comes in, navigation can be challenging.

Another great video James. Still got these to do but will probably do the five due to the effort to get there. Have you climbed the other two munro in that area?
@ScottishMunroJourney2 жыл бұрын
Yeah 5 would be doable but a pretty long day 😁 not done the other two yet, but will no doubt return to get them soon 😁 Cheers, James

Hi!! Brillian video. What route did you take to get to An Socach, those are my next munros and if i could add An Socach to the same walk that'll be great. Also, do you remember if there was nice wild camping spots on the way? Ive noticed too many live stock in the area so not sure if it's good for wild camp
