Mounting a Garmin to an Accessory Rail

How to change out the oversized ball mount on a Garmin product to fit with RAM mount or Bulletpoint.

The Garmin accessory ball matches perfectly with the RAM Size C (1.5") arms; RAM lists their Size B ball (1") as capable of holding 2lbs in HD applications and 4lbs for Size C. The Tread XL weighs just over 2lbs, so it would make sense it has the larger 1.5" ball mount

Is there a setting or something on the Garmin that needs changed when using the USB-C port? I tried this on my Tread. Although it charges, the screen does not stay lit. I found the timeout setting, but there isn't one that enables me to keep it on indefinitely. Am I missing something?

In some of my vehicles, the USB-C port works great; in others, not so much. It is hit or miss.

@@owloffroad Thanks for the reply. I am definitely getting power from one of the ports in the center of the Sprinter dash. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with me removing the "contact" with short pigtail cord from the mount? I doubt it, but may be something to try.
