Just taken up clay pigeon shooting after retirement, have to say after looking at a lot of long winded advice on the net, Chris' short vids are about the best. Actually improved my scores!

Gordon Bennet Chris, If I were to attempt 30 gun mounts per day for a month it is unlikely I would be able to lift my knife and fork!. This is brilliant advice and I have been doing 10 a day and it feels better already. Thank You

It is! I just started two months ago, coming from pistols and rifles, and this is very different. And difficult but also a lot of fun. Hopefully you have much improved in the last three years!

The gun Chris Batha uses is a Krieghoff K-80.

Is this shotgun to cheek technique only for shotguns or also for bullet rifles

Yes you are right. But is it real wood or is it foiled with the "woodgrain film" like beretta used on some of their guns?

Could be a gun fit issue. Try to focus on not mounting the gun to your shoulder but rather to your cheek and let your shoulder follow naturally. I have struggled with this issue from time to time also. Be care as it can lead to flinching. Also, if you are using hot shells like Remington handicap sporting or AA super sports try dropping back to the STS or standard AA shell. For me the B&P F2 Mach is the hottest most comfortable shell out there.

Flinching with a shotgun is ridiculous. Get some pistol time in and fix that.

Can't place the accent. Like. Mix of Irish, Austrailian, USA and others... Crazy but very cool. Got to say I have been using my air pistol and rifle while watching TV to gain aiming strength. Just watching TV while moving the guns and holding aim for as long as you can builds a great stability and does not get boring. Obviously unloaded and on safety (classic disclaimer of course).

I'm unaware of any K-80 using any sort of laminate wood. It would be like putting plastic mud flaps on a Lear Jet. The price point of Krieghoff K-80's start at about $7000 dollars U.S. and that clearly puts it out of the laminate price range. It's real wood.

Any tips for mounting the gun and not getting face slapped by the stock? I might have a fit issue, but could be a poor cheek weld on my part. I'm shooting a Beretta A400 Excel-Target with Monte Carlo Stock. I try not to come off the gun when I shoot.
@bartofilms6 жыл бұрын
ClayDuster 5 years late, but if you still have this issue, your stock may have too much down pitch.

To this day Kay Ohye mounts his gun 100 times a day. 50 times in the morning and 50 times in the evening.

30/day for 4 months, in front of a mirror, to markedly improve gun mounting? Sounds like good advice. How do I hide my shotgun from my wife (who despises all guns because she was assaulted by a druggy when she was younger) and still practice in front of the mirror?
@Hunterboy24073 жыл бұрын
Get a new wife😂 in all seriousness brother, you need to educate her about guns. Guns don’t kill people, people do. Was she actually assaulted with a gun when she was a kid? Because that would be pretty crazy.

Check out the consistency of your gun mounting technique. And increase your accuracy with the original RibEye. RibEye gives you the feedback to improve through the whole of your mounting techniques and through a full swing of the gun. www.ribeyeshootingaid.com/about.html

It's an expensive gun and some people wake up wet after dreaming about it, I get it!. Just thought the wood looked a bit to schmancy and it resembles the fake shit that was put on a coupple of berettas.
