Great video. Thanks for putting this together. Please crest one to show how you align a solar array accurately on the east-west axis.

The absolute, most spot on, video that I have ever wish existed. And I have watched a Lot of videos about installing a Sol-Ark. If this was graded as a 10 on a 10 scale, the nearest competitor is a 5 and all of them together would be 7. If you have a tip box, I’m buying you a beer!

0:54 the manual says they're 2" knockouts, not 1.5". (ignoring the 1.4" comms knockout.) am i misunderstanding?
@GainSolarPower4 ай бұрын
They are giving the actual dimensions of the holes while I am telling you the trade size of the conduit that fits.

@@GainSolarPower oh! TIL. like how a 2x4 is really 1.5x3.5. thanks.
@ronaldchong4 ай бұрын
great video. could you mount the sol-ark first and then install the wireway underneath? seems it would be a easier to get all those conduits aligned, especially if you dont have a cnc'd template.
@GainSolarPower4 ай бұрын
@@ronaldchong you could. You would want to put the pipes on, then mount wireway to that or somehow wedge them in. Lot of fanagling
@tekker83085 ай бұрын
Seems like you could do it in the opposite order, mount the solark and then put the wireway under it. Would that be easier to match up the holes?

I thought the measurements are very, very helpful. I thought the wireway not so much. The wireway is great, but not everyone will be able to route grid, load, PV, battery and generator all coming possibly from different directions into the wireway and then up into the Sol-Ark. Not to mention that you may also be making a panel box for local DIN breakers. DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING THIS COMPLETED INSTALLATION AND HOW EVERYTHING I MENTIONED GOT INTO THE WIREWAY AND UP TO THE SOL-ARK?

I am assuming that mounting bracket is for studs on 16"" center. What would you do for studs 24" OC?
@GainSolarPower Жыл бұрын
I’d either cut out a strip of drywall from stud to stud and put in a piece of thin unistrut or put the middle hole of the bracket on the stud. I’ve also used longer timber screws to reach out and hit studs wherever they are. Inevitably, the wireway will bear some of the weight but too much causes it to deform which makes it hard to get the wireway cover on…

do you have any experience and advice for mounting this beast on a cinderblock basement wall? (i don't know it the blocks are hollow or cement-filled. (circa 1960s.)
@GainSolarPower4 ай бұрын
I’d get some 2” long red head sleeves anchors and don’t over tighten. Once you start drilling, you will find out if it is filled block or not but the sleeve anchor will work on either one

And its cooking’s fans ventilate vertically so it’s needs ample space to draw in air from underneath
