Mountune is going to protect your turbo more than the peron. Not to mention the warranty factor you also get with moutune. If you aren’t so bothered about warranty I’d go with peron obviously. But I like peace of mind.

"Better" is subjective, you might have better response with PERON but MOUNTUNE will most likely keep our cars safer in the long run. I rather have reliability over speed any time.

Considering the number of people running big turbos on these cars with stock internals, gearboxes and clutches the extra power and torque from a stage 1 tune is water off a duck’s back to this engine.

Oh I'm not saying that the Fiesta ST can't handle any Tune from PERON, COBB, etc. I'm just saying that the MOUNTUNE version should be the best for reliability-power ratio given their experience with FORD and their constant collaboration (decades now). Believe me, MOUNTUNE can EASILY make a wilder tune for our cars but that's not their intentions. The more power you demand from an engine, the more stress you put on it and the less time to enjoy it - simple.

Love your videos and upgrades you're doing to your car Steve,seriously considering changing my Mp225 for Peron stage 1 + after watching your comparison video,my car came with mp 215 when I bought it 2 months ago and have added a mountune high flow induction hose which does benefit the car,keep up the good work,Steve.

Good video to watch, proves what most of us already knew, more boost and map to suit in 2nd will make for a quicker car in that gear. It is interesting in 3rd that Peron ramps up quicker which will feel quicker. Back to bacl dyno runs definitely needed now to overlay the maps and see which one is actually better and how. Mountune does seem a bit timid in comparrison on this test.

One thing to remember when you flash these maps - it takes around 10 mile for the adaptations to rebuild on the PCM. Especially the octane adjust ratio. So won't necessarily get full performance straight away.

Good video, but this isn't a direct comparison of maps. One maintained the factory warranty and on purpose limited boost in 2nd to protect the drive train. Whereas the other has had the restrictions removed, so it is guaranteed to be faster.

I have Mountune yes they give a safer tune but that’s what you get when you want ford and mountune accredited warranty So I know that my engine is under safe hands if anything goes wrong and can get ford to support me and don’t have issues like some have with 3 party tunes. It’s a shame that other map tunes are not ford accredited and warranty approved. Only Mountune have that level we have opinions and there is always bias but it’s down to personal choice. Good video for a bit of entertainment but mine can wheel spin but it’s not tyres I wish to shred ! Only paper ! 👍🤣

Good test Steve. Not that I know anything about fords but the Peron looks like it’s got very different duty cycle settings and boost curves allowing it to boost faster. Looks like the mount tune has a much lower target boost early on and a lower duty cycle to make boost build slower but smoother, obviously to a lower target. What was interested is that the Peron seemed to slightly over boost its stable figure, a common mapping feature use in new cars to give the immediate sensation of speed even if the subsequent boost curve demands less than peak. Would like to do something similar in my 135.

Great glad you enjoyed it. I think aet motorsport and peron tune the bmw135i. My nephew has one and their a quick car. The low surge of torque feels stronger in the fiesta than the bmw but whereas my power drops off the bm goes into another level as the rpm rises. Nice cars.

If the the boost gauge is as accurate as mine. I have the mp215 kit with all bolt ons besides downpipe and I get 19 psi in 2nd every time and pretty normally 23+ psi in 3rd gear. I dunno how my mp215 kit is better than others but I’m not complaining lol

Sounds like your guage is wrong. They don't make that much boost. That's stage 2 boost.

I’m running the MR230 (of course a different tune than here) but that’ll spin up in 2nd and 3rd if you realllyyyy want it to. Surprised it doesn’t spin in 2nd with the 215 map.

Steve would you say day to day use the mp215 is better for daily use where even in the damp you can put all the power down and use it without spinning the wheels,you can see even in the dry the peron map wants to spin its wheel can only imagine when its cold and damp it could get tiring,good video by the way

I spin the wheels in 2ND gear in the wet with the MP215 kit. I'm on bridge stone potenza's with some wear, so that could be why.

Hey Steve, I bought the Peron Stage 1+ tune. Read the ECU today and have the 2 files ready to send off. Thing is, who do you send them to? On the Peron home site it just says 'your supporting dealer' cheers

This is just my opinion and not everyone will agree but mp215 is a big waste of money. Spend half the cost on maxd 1r or peron and see twice the gain or more.

I’m still not sure wether to get peron sent to my door and fit it myself or go to a revo specialist which is local and get them to fit it just in case something goes wrong lol. Is there a big difference from mountune to peron stage 1+? I’m still standard with an itg and a silicone hose, so I’ll Defo feel a big difference no matter who I go with.

Mp215 is a big waste of money. Its been many years since this video but in that time iv got into tuning software and when you compare a mp215 map to standard it's barely any different. You won't feel any more power from mp215 has there is no boost increase and all they did was increase ignition timing 1 degree in certain areas. I'd leave it standard rather than waste money with mountune

I'm now pumaspeed maxd out software so that all I reccomended now. Put TEAMSPS in pumaspeed search bar and you will see a discounted section with stage 1 and 2r maps. Or call pumaspeed and ask for Jason and say I sent you for the best deals.

Yes that's exactly what I did. You save the mp215 file before uploading a new file.

I was told that I definitely could not run 95ron fuel with the higher map on it or it would damage the engine. But I was not sure how true that was. Good question. I wanted to be different in terms of getting a sponsorship. Facebook is a minefield of info. Tuner wars is real in there. The reality is all of the top tuners have good stage 1 tunes available except for mountune. Mountune is a dissapointing on a huge level. Now I'm with pumaspeed and maxd software I do appreciate how good it is and will try and promote that. Not just because I'm sponsored by them but because it is good and I can get subscriber discount. No one has ever ever been dissapointed with maxd 1r software.

I have the stage 1 bluefin on my fiesta st,pulls much better than standard admittedly it won't produce the most powerful but it is a tried & tested safe map

I am CP2 also, can be used on a stock car no mods. Better with mods and is self adjusting to accommodate the mods. I run a ST200 airbox with ramair panel filter, Ramair crossover pipe, Airtec hot side pipe, ST Fabrications Intercooler and Mountune Cat back exhaust. Runs really well, not had a dyno but feels great. I loaded it on when I only had a cat back exhaust and it made massive difference.
