I don't understand how this is "research", but it's for sure a very beautiful performance and video !

Not all research has to be done via books or the Internet. Moving your body is just as valid research. :)

'research' perhaps because in it's improvisational quality more possibilities and potential are being discovered?

When I studied to become a MSc I learned that in research 1. We come up with a hypothesis 2. We set up experiments 3. We proof the hypothesis correct or false. In terms of movement, casually, I would say learning to Kick Flip or to jump or to roll or to hop on one leg can be approached like "research". But this beautiful dance piece really looks more like a performance, maybe an investigative flow performance, rather than research. Doesn't really matter, it's nice to watch anyways. Just saying. :-)

When I studied for my BPAD (Batchelor of performing Arts in Dance) we did the same...however we also Danced! Research comprises "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge...' However that is executed would surely confirm the origin of the word from French 'cherche' to search.. I wonder what Moshe Feldenkrais did to find his vocabulary then?

Who knows what went on in the head of Moshé Feldenkrais! :-) When you say "systematic basis" this I can understand much better. In this regard the whole dance piece by itself is the experiment, and the repetition of it the investigation. Right?
