This is an AMAZING point you've made! My physical therapist told me 2 years ago I need to do my exercises at 20%. I have the "All or Nothing" cognitive distortion. I would ALWAYS push myself when working out to 100%, not knowing I was harming my hypermobility and creating more pain. I'm so glad to have found your channel and you discussing hypermobility!!

Tension building while I'm trying to engage is one of my biggest barriers to PT and other exercise being successful. Getting my muscles to release enough to engage other things without sublaxation, spam, or anxiety spiking is challenging. (I have hEDS.)

As a hyper mobile person who struggles with knowing how HARD to tighten my body (often way too much), this helps immensely

So when i was California i physically felt insanely better, i have POTS, EDS all of the crappy things but in Cali i had boundless energy. I still had to chill once in a while but unlike on the east coast it didn't take days to recover from long walks or small injuries.

Interesting! I'm in B.C. and struggling with hypermobility issues, but I will say, when I visit the eastern provinces, my skin goes to shit 😅 I thought I was imagining things but maybe not
