I love this. It seemed so special when that music came on like you knew something good was coming. my teenagers will never understand pre Internet days. We were lucky.

I would have to agree with you, Because it has been a Tradition at my house every Saturday and Sunday Night, when Dinner was over, my Husband, our four children, and I would watch a Family Movie, Like, "The Sound Of Music", "Benji the Hunted", "Flight of the Navigator", "Ewoks Caravan of Courage", "Ewoks Battle for Endor", "The Muppet Movie", "The Great Muppet Caper", "The Muppet's Take Manhattan", "Sesame Street Presents Follow That Bird", "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure", "Big Top Pee-Wee", and "The Ten Commandments", and when our four children, our youngest daughter Haileigh, our next youngest daughter named Hannah, our next oldest son named James, and our oldest son named Peter, were in their beds sleeping, My Husband Jason David and I would be watching our own Movie Night, and the Movies we would be watching are, "Gone with the Wind", "Road House", "The Poseidon Adventure (1975)", "The Towering Inferno", "Orca the Killer Whale", etc. etc.

Being born in 1975 I remember A LOT of these films & promos. I miss the days when the best shows/movies were on the big 3 Networks. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy Netflix & all the choices I have now, but I have such fond memories of these shows/movies.

...RIP actress Delores Taylor 9/27/32 - 3/23/18. Ms. Taylor was co-writer & co-star of 'Billy Jack', with late husband and frequent co-writer/co-star, Tom Laughlin (1931-2013).

Hell Yeah the good ol days when tv was so much fun and exciting. We used to actually look forward a week or two getting ready for this stuff doing our homework all week, doing our chores finally getting ready to eat good take out, fast food, or good cooking and watching the movie as a family. Stuff like this was a big deal in our family when I was little and it meant a lot and very special. Family, Fun, Weekend Nights and good eats and desert. If the movie was a scary monster or horror it was even better as my Pop always raised us on sci fi and horror. Thanks for brining back some nostalgic memories back. A+++ 70's and 80's were the best for me and I loved it as a kid soaking all that good shit in. lol

This was a "reunion movie"......and NBC was desperate enough to schedule ANYTHING that would grab BIG RATINGS. And it did--- enough for Fred Silverman to ask Sherwood Schwartz to produce two sequels that doubled as pilots: "The Castaways on Gilligan's Island" (1979) and "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island" (1981) {to Fred, THAT one was the equivalent of a "NEW SCOOBY-DOO MOVIE", the kind he programmed on CBS' Saturday morning schedule in the early 1970's}. In any case, no further sequels OR a new series ever appeared.

I remember seeing Rollercoaster in Sensurround in the theater. They made 3 films in Sensurround including this one. Earthquake and Midway were the others.

Wow.. *3:25* was the start of the best part of my younger years.. saw the original *Halloween* that night.. they didn't warn anyone it was pretty much unedited. But then.. there wasn't any real blood or gore to edit out. I also love being reminded that NBC, had it not been for so many deals to air first run showings of theatrical movies, would have died as a network. Much of this is from the period of the infamous season (1983) where *NONE* of the new series NBC premiered got renewed.

"The Reivers" was one of the few movies to get an M rating by the MPAA in 1969. M was between G and R and was replaced by GP in 1970 and PG later. "The Reivers" has been re-rated as PG-13. Of course, to be shown on NBC, they had to take the dirty parts out.

Thanks so much for this video! When I got to the part with the three Thursday night movie premieres in May, King Kong, The Curse of King Tut's and Capricorn One I, I yelled out loud. It was May 1980 and I was just finishing up my sixth grade year. This was pre-cable days and I remember watching each one of those movies as they aired.

Hey Fred! That was good, I enjoyed it! I tell you man, you can find stuff that I've haven't seen in decades and really forgot about. But you have it and make nice videos bringing back memories, very nice! Tomorrow morning I go back to the doctor again for another exam. My blood pressure spiked the other day and it took a lot out of me. I need to learn how to control it better. Anyway, I thought I would let you know what's going on with me. You just keep on doing what you're doing my friend, another great job! ☺

That "Death of Her Innocence" was aka "Our Time". I think it came out before Parker Stevenson and Pamela Sue Martin hit it big on the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew TV Show. Unlike that innocent teeny-bopper vehicle, this one involved college kids and premarital sex in the 50s. A friend of Pam's gets pregnant, has a back alley abortion, and dies of complications shortly thereafter (bleeds out). Pretty serious pre-Roe v. Wade territory there, that Frank and Nancy never got close to...
