While I know that this movie is considered a classic cult favorite, and it was entertaining when I first rented from the video store (yes that long ago). But after rewatching it recently, I find it quite forgettable now, I respect the film because it was something of a unique concept for a horror movie at the time (1988) and it was far better then the original 1958 film, but it certainly hasn't aged well at all, the cheesy special effects, the subpar acting and a monster/amoeboidal/alien thingy that i found more ridiculous then terrifying at times. But that's just my opinion, I don't hate the movie, it's actually considered one of the best horror movie remakes ever, which I agree to an extent, especially when compared to all the barely watchable horror movie remakes that I've had the misfortune of seeing (too many to mention).
