For a bright, uplifting movie it actually made me very sad. I think this movie is more than that, which makes it better. Without that sad, bittersweet ending, it would have been *just* a bright uplifting movie, and all of these scenes would have been less meaningful. It's the contrast between this happy vibe and the real sadness in the story that made it so good.

What makes the message of this song so special for me is how Mia is discovered: she has her own play but sadly, very few people come to see it. But one of these few people in the crowd works in the movie industry and is looking for an actress. After seeing Mia in her play, she invites her to the casting and she gets the role, leading to her career finally taking off. So in the end, even though there weren't many people, there was this "Someone in the crowd" who found her

Sooooo, for fun he usta go crash parties in Hollywood, pretending to be some movie star. Warren Bradley. One of his radio bits was to call ppl on their birthday and pretend to be a famous actor, and the call was a wrong number, various other bits. He made a lot of Hollywood parties and never went anywhere bigger than the radio show. Why? He wasn't pretty enough. His words.

TheDCTVshow It’s sad which there are people who dislike La La Land and keep comparing it to classic musicals from the past. In my opinion, La La Land is honestly better than Grease, West Side Story, and Singing in the Rain. Many people in society just don’t seem to understand musical, art, and cinema. They only like typical comedy or action/sci-fi flick.
@agenttheater56 жыл бұрын
I don't dislike La La Land, I just happen to think that 'West Side Story' is the better movie and musical - in fact it broke a lot of barriers for what can or cannot be in a musical. And for the record I only watch a few action or sci-fi flicks and mostly when there's nothing better on. And for the record, the reason why some people might prefer 'Singing in the Rain' is because although what Ryan and Emma managed to do in two days for 'A Lovely Night' is impressive, Debbie Reynolds is said to have practiced until her feet bled for 'Good Morning', Gene Kelly is said to have shot 'Singing in the Rain' with a fever (though that may just be a rumor because no-one appears to be sure of how high this fever was) and Donald O'Connor worked himself into exhaustion while filming 'Make 'Em Laugh' (he was a 4 pack a day smoker and it'd been a while since his days as a vaudeville stuntman) and had to stay in bed for a week only to find that the footage had been destroyed and he had to film it again.

Did someone notice that when they are dancing inside the room, the dress they hold is with strips in the shoulders but when Emma wears it is a different dress?

Sometimes dresses or tops have very thin black straps when you buy them. I believe its for hanger purposes especially since her dress is a halter. So it's likely the same dress.

Oh lord we have the same taste look at Emma's expression and attitude while flipping and after that I just love it how the music takes over and rules the scene for next 20 or more seconds

I can't stand people who say la la land is overrated!!! The movie is just getting the hype and recognition it deserves, and most of the time the simple fact that it's a musical is their argument as to why they don't like it. Not all musicals are childish... The worst part is that most of these people are film bros who worship whiplash cause it's not a love story and it's pretty dark and harsh. Though I do love whiplash, its impact isn't nearly as impactful as la la land's.
