1:00-1:07 is me on the last day of school. Brigitta was always my favorite. So sassy. I remember first watching the film and counting the children as they came down the stairs and openly stating that there were 6 not 7. Then bam! In comes Brigitta reading a book, not even caring about what her father would do. After that my Nana nicknames me Brigitta because 1) I was seriously observant as a 5 year old and 2) I loved reading. Absolutely adore Angela Cartwright.

in this version and the other one online they cut off before the crowd at the party sings back "good-bye" I like how they respond.. it shows that they were listening and are willing to respond. It gives comfort. This is the ultimate 'human' interaction.. hearing and responding in kindness. The Adults have a 'unified front' they act together when they respond .. This supports the children and shows that they are not merely performers but rather that 'we're all in this together... and I've got your back!" The Children's voices are nice as individuals but when the crowd comes in there is a depth also there is Harmony that is impossible with the individual voice. It is a great experiment Individuals that come together to form society and that society is broader and stronger than the individual.. the response of the party to the children is in a way to show that these kids for all their wire and duct tape solutions and the 'can-do' mentality are in fact supported by a variety of interests that all are aiming to help and support the children. Without that response it's mere voyeurism. Merely seeking to look AT people. Never AT rather .. with!

That's because the plot line in most musicals exists only to move the story to the next song. But there are exceptions, such as the two you mentioned and also "Oklahoma!". The auction scene in "Oklahoma!" is very intense for a musical.

I remember this movie so much because it was my mother’s favorite movie when she was my age and she loved it so much when it came out in theaters back in 1965, we watched it at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and it was a sing-a-long, and that was a huge success, I seen it at the Hollywood Bowl a couple times and it was so much fun to see it with the words on the screen, there’s a couple of songs that I loved in the movie, one of the songs that I did, my mom was so proud of me for doing it so well in my own show with my friends who were with us in the show, I had a lot of fun doing that song, because I had to do it my own way, which was so hard to do but I really liked it a lot, thank you so much Julie Andrews for making this movie a success for the whole world, I really appreciate it so much!

I grew up watching this film. Sound of Music is one of my dad's fave film that's why he usually asks me to watch this with him. FF to 2021, I now have my 2yr old boy exposed to classic films. Sound of Music is his first favorite film next to ET. ❤️

I heard this song many times before actually watching the movie, and I always assumed this was simply what the kids sang when they went back home. Because of that, 1:00 to 1:07 sounded strange when I first heard it - I assumed that it was going to be some kind of surprise reveal that one of them didn't have a good time. Note: I had no knowledge of this movie outside of "Someone has to look after some kids".

Just finished watching it tonight. It came on TV and I couldn't turn the channel and rewatched it and remembered yet again just how great a movie it is. 🙂😊🥲🙂🙂🥰 Hollywood just doesn't make movies like these anymore sadly.
