@@mohamadokab8749 unfortunately, the rear of the KC-10 was pierced through by the boom after AF1 lost stability due to cabin deprssurization, and the jolt causing AF1 to accidentally pitch up while connected to the boom and punctured the KC-10's tail and possibly even the tanks inside, causing it leak fuel. As a result, the boom was inoperative and werent able to disconnect or stop the fuel flow.

Strictly speaking, that is mostly practical effects. The tanker was a model that was blown up (actually twice) in order to get the shot. Technically speaking, its still a 'CGI' shot because these are digitally composited shots and there is a lot of CGI touchup as well. But I am sure that's not what you were referring to. For the record, that is not to say that I pan CGI in general.

All honesty, the KC-10 crew deserves a lot more credit in this movie. They have to pull off lying to the Russians, and hold-fast while a complex evacuation operation is going on aboard AF1, likely knowing how badly it can go wrong. BTW! They can be added to the pile of bodies thrown away at the cost of a President who immediately caves to the demands of terrorists shortly after in this movie, forcing a constitutional crisis in the process.

I happened to turn to the channel just as the terrorist start shooting. When Gibbs betrayed them at the end, I was totally blindsided. When I was able to watch the first Part of the film later that day. I was even more confused. The Russian nationalist wanted to free General Radek after he was taken prisoner. How did they get the head of the President's secret service detail to assists them?
