It appears KZbin has done something weird and made the audio out of sync if you’re on an android TV or Google chrome casts I’m sorry about that. There’s nothing I can really do about it which is frustrating, but if you watch it on something other than an android TV its normal.

Funny little thing: The fifth book basicaly explains why Crouch jr. couldn't have portkey'd Harry anytime they wanted and why his master plan felt so convoluted: When Dumbledore makes a portkey for Harry after dueling voldemort, Fudge scolded him for making an "unregistered portkey", meaning said mechanisms not only need authorization to be made, but very likely can be detected when created (considering the Ministry can track underage use of magic automaticaly, stands to reason they can detect anything else), and the fact all portkeys so far were handled by official means (sans the aforementioned by Dumbledore) further proves this point. Therefore, Crouch Jr. needed a PRE-EXISTING portkey to modify it's location to the graveyard, and the Triwizard trophy was already enchanted as a portkey to take the winner back to the entrance of the maze, which means that portkey was already registered and authorized and changing its location could be undetectable. It was just a matter of making sure Harry grabs the trophy.

There's one more thing. Voldy didn't want Dumbledore to find out about his resurrection, which he obviously would if Harry was suddenly Portkeyed somewhere when picking up a teacup or something.

I think there are also magical enchantments to prevent portkeys, and the headmaster has to specifically lift those from a certain area to allow things like these portkeys, or when they take apparition lessons in the great hall

It surprised me exactly how well Barty Crouch Jr was at teaching. He was a crazy, psychotic villain, but in the books, he was actually good at teaching DADA. He creeped out a lot of students, but everyone always learned a lot in his classes. Makes you think, if Barty Crouch wasn't evil, maybe he could've had a career as a professor. He was amongst the top of his classes during his OWLs and NEWTs, so he really was smart and makes sense that he was good at teaching.

That’s one thing I found hard to buy (I know it’s a series about magic but still) if someone is a genuine psychopath & mentally ill in the way he is then I really don’t see him being able to pretend to be someone else and act for the most part normal enough to get hired & function properly.

Thanks a lot for making these. I'm visually impared (officially registered blind, though I do have some vision), as a massive Potter fan, I've watched the hp films many times, with and without audio description, however there are so many details that I literally can't see, and which the audio describer doesn't have time to mention. It's amazing to know what's there, and has given me a new appreciation for the films, even those I was less keen on. So, thanks a lot for the new experience, it's definitely appreciated.

I found this passage from the book very interesting: “He said my blood would make him stronger than if he’d used someone else’s,” Harry told Dumbledore. “He said the protection my - my mother left in me - he’d have it too. And he was right - he could touch me without hurting himself, he touched my face." For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore’s eyes. Such a short sentence, but with so much meaning.

Funny thing too: Barty Crouch Jr is played by David Tennant, who was the Tenth Doctor in 'Doctor Who'. The regeneration scene from Christopher Ecclestone (the Ninth Doctor) to Tennant happened in the episode 'The Parting of the Ways', the same named chapter in 'The Goblet of Fire' where Crouch is exposed, changing from 'Moody' to himself. Both 'The Goblet of Fire' and that 'Doctor Who' episode came out in 2005.

I know a lot of people weren’t a fan of this movie or think it’s one of the worst, but I’ve always loved it. Yes, it left out a lot of book details but I personally love the events of the Triwizard Tournament. The graveyard scene is unforgettable and extremely well done-such a dark turning point in the series and they really captured that uneasy feeling. Barty Crouch Jr.‘s reveal was also a very intense moment and it’s one of my favorites in the entire franchise.

One detail that kept cracking me up was Rita Skeeter stating Harry's age as 12 instead of 14. Harry tries to correct her, to no effect. It's funny, because it further emphasizes the age difference between Harry and the other champions. It probably added to Harry's frustration. I can't remember if this detail was in the book, though.

It wasn't, I've just reread the book and noticed the lack of the 12vs14 year old mistake that I remembered from the movie. For me it was a nice addtition in the film, further emphasising Rita's attitude towards Harry and people in general.

I think Rita Skeeter could've been cut to make way for the more important plots. If they were going to keep her, I think they should have kept the subplot with Hagrid, because that would have added a nice emotional core to the film. They could've cut down the ridiculously drawn out Yule Ball plotline to allow time, or just made the film 3 hours long. I think most people would've actually liked that

As a former small town reporter, it always bugged me that the only person representing any sort of press in the books/movies was Rita Skeeter, such a lying/horrible hack. It was obvious she wrote most of her stories without talking to her sources and just makes stuff up to fit the narrative she wanted. Such tabloid reporting should not have been acceptable at the Daily Prophet.

The actor playing Frank Bryce is called Eric Sykes. His story is that originally was one of several scriptwriters for another actor called Tony Hancock who was quite famous in the UK in the 1950/60's initially on Radio and then TV. I remember him acting in TV sitcoms in the 1970's, which he wrote, so he never did that much film work. It's a small part in this film, but it's great that a wonderfully funny comic actor with impeccable writing talent eventually gets great cameo part in one of these films.

In the book it was also mentioned that Frank was a war veteran (WW2 most likely, because he was 70 years old when he died) during the time when Voldemort murdered his father and grandparents. If those murders happened in 1943, Frank most likely was a veteran of Dunkirk or was a pilot in RAF, because Invasion of Normandy took place a year later, in 1944.

Just a bit of more info about the whole love and ancient magic that protected Harry plot hole whilst many many wizards were killed by avada kedavra while also protecting a loved one. JK patched that plot hole later when questioned, saying it only worked for the protagonist because Harry's mother was given the choice of life (aka Voldemort gave Lilly a choice, step aside and live, or stand in the way be killed alongside her child). Of course she chose to stay between Voldy and baby Harry, fully knowing she would die, and therefore triggering the ancient magic that gave Harry the ultimate protection.

I'm Pretty sure that the bruises left on Harry at 46:00 were not from the Gillyweed but from the Grendylows. They look much more like suction arm marks and are too far forward on his neck to be his gills to me.

53:38 it's apparently cause the actor that played cedric in the movies thought it was dorky how they held they're wands so he wanted to make it look cooler so that's why he held it like that

You read them well how they are looking at Harry, I believe. Amazing acting and as you are mentioning details. Thank you for pointing all these out. Just by reading the book for my kids when they were young, I missed all these summaries and points. Excellent job. I keep following your videos on it and shared them with my kids. My son actually read after so many years the last book.

At 50:42 while Harry is walking he’s looking down, I always thought that this is a great detail because in the last movie at the same spot when he saw Peter in the marauders map he was looking up, but now that he knows that peter is a rat that could be him regretting not looking down

I never realized how many details were in this movie, shame it wasn't as good regarding the script. Honestly, before I had Goblet of Fire at the lowest position with Half-Blood Prince being in one position up. But now, I think I'm gonna switch them, as I like attention to details, which were sadly not quite visible while watching the movie itself.

Movie Flame: Honestly, you're a Warlock amongst Squibs. Absaloute meticulous detail with more steamy information than Rita Skeeters Biography on Dumbledore. (Although most of the latter is dungbomb) My opinion on Moodys statement concerning the summer internship at the Department of Mysteries; I've always interpreted this as a wry attempt of a joke. A very dark and sarcastic comment typical of British humour. Given the way the fourth film was written, it has an aptitude for dry humour, and I think this is a sterling example of such writing. Morgan mate- love your work! Xxx

It is not my first comment on your videos but this one might be one of the most important ones I did and will write. I started to watch this playlist of movie breakdowns from the fourth part since the goblet of fire is a book I reat again last week and it is my favourite audiobook in my language. The first Potter audiobook I listened to as well so I have lots of great memories. More important thing I wanted to say though is that I am completely blind meaning I watched all of the Potter movies first with family member who described to me what is happening on the screen and later, when I learnt English well enough, I watched it with audiodescribtion - additional track which incorporates precorded voice describing the visuals into the movie. But neither audiodescribtion nor any fellow viewer had the time for describing everything in detail, they even could not notice some things. These videos of yours are my first and to this day only chance I found online to see and appreciate these details and eastereggs. Everyone making such lists always puts pictures or clibs into them but are not describing them like you do. So I would like to thank you for that since it is so important and yet hardly ever accessible and possible for me. Now I am going to watch the rest of the playlist. Thanks for giving me an amazing leisure activity. :)

Fun fact about the clock tower. The clock is heavily inspired by one particular clock, probably the oldest mechanical clock in Europe that's still functional (maybe also the oldest mechanical device in the world that's still functional). Doesn't ring a bell? Well it's Prague's Oldtown Astronomical Clock. This clock is a direct replica, minus the colouring.
