You know what's tragic? In the end, Regulus and Sirius were more similar than different, and neither of them knew it. They both made the right choice. They both fought for the right side. Man, I completely forgot about this particularly tragic part of the story. I felt so sorry for Kreacher in the books but I love the part where he leads the house elves at the battle of Hogwarts in the name of Regulus who died looking like a coward but ended up being one of the most brave. I liked that part about Regulus. His bravery wasn't for the sake of glory or self serving. Protecting the his loved ones was enough reward for him even if it meant the memory of him being seen in a very negative light from then on. Like I said, tragic is the only way to describe his character and I think his part in taking down Voldemort is too often overlooked or forgotten, even by myself.

Regulus's story reminds me a little of Snape. Both started doing wrong, with going with Voldemort. But in the end, by knowing things of or from someone they cared about (Lily and Kreacher) they started to redeem themself and ended up dying for the safety of the wizarding world. Both so grey and amazing characters in Harry Potter. Their last deed was of heroes, even if their life before was not (bullying and such). Love this you do with HP characters. Keep on going. ^_^

Also, it seems as though Regulus stopped being a Death Eater because he realized how evil Voldemort was and, morally, couldn't do it anymore. Snape, on the other hand, only stopped being a Death Eater because Voldemort was going after Harry, and thus, Lily was at risk. Had it been someone else's kid, then, Snape wouldn't have cared, and thus would probably have remained a Death Eater. It wasn't because he realized it was wrong (like Regulus). It was because he never respected Lily's feelings of love for James, never respected her choice to marry James, and never let her go.

Draco Malfoy's hesitation and unwillingness to condemn Harry to death by identifying him at the Malfoy Manor in book 7 is what allowed Potter to escape in the end. Yeah, exactly. I think MovieFlame made that mistake because Kreacher doesn't use past perfect. It would immediately make sense to everyone, had Kreacher said "Master had told Kreacher to come home, so Kreacher came home." But he says "Master told Kreacher..." If I remember correctly, it's because Kreacher doesn't use all the tenses English has, just like Dobby and Winky.

What if Regulus Black is an animagi, and his animal form is Crookshanks. There is a lot of evidence, he appears in the third book so what abruptly. It is said that he communicates with Sirius but It is never stated that the human pretending to be an animal can talk to an animal. All though animagi can talk to their own species. Regulus is even a star in the Leo constellation, and Leo is a cat, just as Sirius is a star in the dog constellation. The relationship that regulus has with Scabbers could be thought of as a normal cat and rat, but maybe he can tell it's his brothers old friend that turned on the marauders. Regulus may have gone into hiding and faked his own death to escape Voldemort's control and later be able to come back at the exact time to be able to fight him. It is also said that there are deep scratch marks underneath Regulus's name plate on his door, that's kind of a weird detail to add. Also Crookshanks jumps on Sirius's chest just as Harry is going to kill him. Just a theory. I know he is half kneazle but maybe since he is just half he could still be an animagi. There are a lot of strange things that don't seem to add up to why they would happen or be there.
@0708LC7 жыл бұрын
I actually believe that Crookshanks is the old cat of the Potters. The one that Baby Harry, according to Lilly’s letter to Sirius, almost killed flying his toy broom. Crookshanks is said to have been in the magical menage “for a very long time” (12 years maybe?) It is why he recognises Sirius, as he must’ve seen him shift countless times. Also Kneazles are super smart so he must’ve realised that Peter betrayed his family and also knowing Peter is also an animagus he instantly realised who he was which is why he was after Scabbers from the day they met (met again).

He could have easily discarded his elf and selfishly ran away, but eventually stood up against Lord Voldemort. He could have just left his house-elf, but instead, he sacrificed himself for his elf and was able to switch the lockets.

Regulus will always be a better man to me than Snape was, while Snape died for a better world, he bullied students for no reason (Neville, Hermione), he only really had one redeeming trait, and that’s something everyone has. I think his love for Lily was more of an obsession, if he truly loved Lily, he would be just devastated by Lily’s death and go to her grave to mourn her and summon a flower wreath. Meanwhile, Regulus died to outsmart Voldemort, he wanted to show Voldemort that guarding stuff for selfishness is wrong, it may just be me, but Regulus deserves to be named after, and it would Sirius and Regulus brothers again.

Snape is complicated. It's hard to be on the "good" side when those deemed good treated you like crap and stole "your" girl. I think those who talk about bullying have to keep in mind that Snape's supposed loyalty to Slytherin and Voldy woulda been questioned if he didn't treat Granger, Longbottom and Harry Potter (most of all) like crap. It was easy for him to channel the residual resentments he had as a student. He sublimated them brilliantly and lived a lonely life as a result. His "cover" was credible but I think it is forgotten that it was a cover for him and he sold it so well it didn't seem like cover at all.
@alexhyde88207 жыл бұрын
1. Regardless of what others do to you, you have a choice about how to respond. 2. Who stole "his" girl? Really, who? Because it sure wasn't James; the two of them fell in love and, regardless of who it was, the idea that anyone "stole" "his" girl implies that Lily was something that could be stolen. That she was "something" and not "someone" who was fully capable of making her own decisions, which she did, and she chose James, who grew up while Snape remained the same and bullied students so badly he was outright abusive and one of the students had him as his worst nightmare. Further, the concept of "stole 'your' girl'" also implies that Lily belonged to Snape, that Snape owned Lily, instead of Lily being her own person, which she was. Snape didn't own her, and neither did James. So, I assume you mean that James is the one who "stole" Lily, despite how illogical that is. Lily wasn't stolen, nobody owned her, and she chose someone else. I've noticed that's difficult for some people to accept, at least in part (I imagine), due to Alan Rickman's performance. Not saying Snape never did anything good, just that he wasn't the hero that some people make him out to be.

Reg's story is heart-breaking and at the same time inspiring. He was incredibly selfless. Now there are two things that I've been thinking about: 1. He was close to Voldemort. Sirius thought different, but notice when Regulus left the note for Voldemort he signed it with "RAB" instead of his full name. Given the fact that he wanted Voldemort to know who the note was from, he must have been sure that he knew his name. Voldemort has dozens of Death Eaters, he couldn't possibly know all the names. But he knew Regulus' name. I know this might be common knowledge already but I had to get that out of my mind. 2. Regulus wanted Voldemort to know who found his Horcrux. It was basically his dying wish, right? But he didn't find out because Harry and Dumbledore found the fake locket first. So Voldemort naturally thought Harry stole that Horcrux. He never knew it was really Regulus. That makes me really sad. I also wish Sirius had known...

Terrific video! Kreacher has always been among my top favorite characters and I always get disgusted looks when I reveal that but it’s because the movies influenced people’s memory too much and they forgot about his deeds and his glory in the end which more than make up for his previous faults if you ask me. Also, the way Kreacher was before he was loyal to Harry was only cuz he was raised racist and subjected to terrible mistreatment followed by being trapped in a creepy house with only a psycho pic of sirius’ mom for years. Once he was enlightened to another way of thinking and normal treatment he changed sides. He was only “evil” cuz he was ignorant at the time.
