“He doesn’t want the glory for what he does; he’s very humble” it’s cause he’s a hufflepuff! Hufflepuff house usually accepts the kindest, humblest, and most earnest wizards that love to care for people and other creatures. I wish that they got more representation in the original series, but I’m happy with Newt getting to be a protagonist because many people wouldn’t see a Hufflepuff as the main character. Newt , Queenie , Tina and of course Jacob are excellent additions to the franchise. It's a shame Newt was sidelined in tbe convoluted second movie Also Newt is a quintessential Hufflepuff. He's confident in his personality. The trio being literal kids made sense to have their flaws. If Newt had the same flaws it would be cringey ,since he's grown up. But Newt as an adult Hufflepuff makes sense to be likeable and yet a somewhat outcast . We need more Newts ,the accepting ,hard working and kind. He's non judgmental , honest and an empathetic wizard . Something we really need now
@indedgames4359 Жыл бұрын
He wasnt sidelined though. You clearly didnt understand why he is the protag.how would dumbledore work? Its established he avoids The fight against grindelwald until 1945. The SoD Do t count her. That Was David yates idea for cinematic reasons and jo and Steve made it work by maling the Motivation clearly be anout savibg credence. Afterwards it is however Not about saving a famaliemember but everyone and that plus the fact he is scared of the truth of who killed Ariana makes him avoid Grindelwald again. Newt is the perfect Protagonist her. Hmhe can go out why dumbledore is in hogwarts and jo didnt want to write in hogwarts anymore. Hell she swore to herself never a potter book again thats why sje prppaly wont fi is fb as novels.

The first movie was great. The second one was at the least very sloppy. Adding by last count 10 subplots including the main story felt too much and was all over the place so we barely had enough time to enjoy the scenes and story if they keep changing the mood constantly. I as a Harry Potter fan managed to understand the plot of Crimes of Grindelwald but it does not mean I enjoy it as I know it would be confusing even from a normal audience's perspective.

I really don't get why so many people dislike these films, they're Great and they expand the setting, before it was mostly just Northern England but now it's the entire world that's covered in Witchcraft and wizardry and we get to see all the places that potter could never go to because he is under aged (even if dean spent a lot of his time on set drunk or hungover) I personally cant wait to see what happens next and were we go (I believe it may be Rio de Janeiro based on the JKR hint from a few years back) And now for that massive Eliphant that sitting looking at me, yes JKR has said a bunch of extremely dumb crap lately but here is the think the setting has become bigger than her, and most of the stars of the films have come out to say she is wrong, the setting seems to understand the world more than she does. You can dislike her and vigorously disagree with her ideas and still love the setting its films and its books, don't let the nonsense she was talked about destroy the things that bring you joy, this world needs all the joy it can get, and remember as a favourite character of mine said ""the world could always use more heroes"" So if you disagree with the stuff JKR said remember it and act apon it be better, I think that's something most of the heros in the potter setting can agree with, find a way to be a better person don't let hate and fear win.
@rddunn34134 жыл бұрын
I agree. The global wizarding community is barely touched on, because we focus on Voldemort, who only tried to take on the UK. Grindelwald was a global threat, a global problem and expands the world we love. I personally prefer Fantastic Beasts over Harry Potter.
@rddunn34134 жыл бұрын
@@vishalSharma-ol9fl I think it's because they would be able to blend in more with the Muggle community as large groups of isolated people would be rather suspicious. They could use magic to hide themselves but still blend in, like the trips in London. Also, at least 4 of the 11 magic schools are in USA and Europe, so chances are that more characters like Grindelwald and Dumbledore would arise. Grindelwald was globally a threat because in Harry Potter, they stuck to the UK, but he was found in New York and it also branched out to Franch, Austria and likely Germany and Rio de Janeiro.

@mike78874 жыл бұрын
What makes “cheap fan service” ......sounds like any type of service is cheap service then. They had Minerva and Nicolas Flamel and Nagani. Minerva has 10 seconds on screen - lovely! cool! let’s leave it at that. Nicolas Flamel has his cameo, albeit a big cameo - and although I found the character design of him to be creepy, I thought the inclusion fit perfectly, especially with the location the film was set (Flamel being French) and I thought the inclusion of Naginis back story is actually fantastic. Beautifully tragic and I’m anticipating to see what transpired with her before Voldemort got involved with her. I seriously SERIOUSLY do not get why on Earth there’s annoyance about any references or fan service in these films? Guarantee you’d all be beggin for it if there was non. I seem to remember the first fantastic beasts getting sited as not feeling like the Harry Potter films. Nothing was cheap about things they included. It’s the wizard of world. I’m just glad we’re out of New York - just didn’t feel magical - keep it in Europe

I didnt really care for the Harry Potter ones to much, since I thought they missed the feel and complexity of the books - but this new franchise has just that, the feel from the books. The characters are more explored, the way the camera moves and how the writing/story is the focus instead of the special-effects. Its more complex and gives the same sense of wonder that the HP books gave. I was so amazed walking out of the cinema, I could not grasp the hate it got. But again, I never liked the HP movies to much, so maybe thats why. However, I do like the plot in crimes of Grinelwald, I was not to happy about the overpowered magic, to me that was weird. But I am looking foreward to follow the story as it goes, and I love Newt. Eddie is my celebrity crush, so that was just perfect for me.

Good video on your take on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Your view on the Shaw family made me think that we could see Langdon Shaw in future Fantastic Beasts movies or that he would be spoken of as a writer who writes about the wizarding world in a fictional way. After Crimes of Grindelwald Jacob could meet up with him and tell him about the wizarding world, in a fictional way of course that he could use in his books and even giving him the idea to write a book where a witch marries a mortal (no maj) which would eventually get adapted into a movie and at least partially inspires a TV show that would be similar to the American TV show Bewitched and the actresses that they get to play the witch roles are blonde like Queenie. Jacob would use Langdon's books as a way to change American wizarding law so that wizards and no majs can be together and Tina would support that. This would also mirror Newt's relationship to his older brother in the first film where he is still in his older brother's shadow but he would become better known than his brother in the future since he did write one of the textbooks for Hogwarts. In Fantastic Beasts Langdon is still behind his older brother's shadow who is a U.S. Senator but he can become famous in his own right for writing his books and even the TV show that is loosely based on his book be well known and loved by the American public even during Harry's time and beyond. The American TV show Bewitched was in reruns in the 1990s which would be during Harry Potter's time. The American TV show Bewitched premiered in the fall of 1964 and Rappaport's Law was repealed in 1965.

I'm not a film student but I'm defiantly an armchair film buff. When I saw this film for the first time Eddie Redmayne playing Newt Scamander left an incredible impression on me. As soon as the credits rolled I turned to my girlfriend in the cinema and said "I think I love that almost as much as The Shawshank Redemption." This is of course high praise.

I love this movie, and Grindelwald. I don't get why everyone thinks Grindelwald was awful. I loved them both! It's the 'middle' movie in a franchise. People said the same thing about "The Two Towers" and "Desolation of Smaug" in the LOTR Trilogies. It's a filler movie, it fills in the blanks, and continues the story.

Grindelwald is a German name and in German, a w is pronounced like a v in English. If Native English speakers try to pronounce it, both are fine, but technically with a v it is more correct I suppose

I bought a book that explained how the Harry potter and fantastic beasts films were created, it explained in-depth the costumes and sets of both the movies. It was a great book. I've only watched the first fantastic beasts movie because the second hasn't come out on Netflix 😂. Can't wait for the second one to come out.

I love the content and information provided in these videos. Morgan really puts so much hard work and his talent into these videos that they are spectacular! I really wish you get a 3 million subscribers! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film is really new term to the Wizarding World as the audiences go through different type of wizarding government and mainly that the story takes place in the muggle world. I really appreciate Jk Rowling for such characters, plot amd twists. I just wish more magic should have been shown in those films. Movie Flame and Morgan you are the best and you put so much effort in your videos, salute to you,! By the way your puppy is mind-blowingly cute 😍!

I'm sooo glad you did this review again! I absolutely love both Fantastic Beasts movies, and never understood why soo many people hated them. It's a great series to continue the wizarding world in a different more adult direction from the first series, yet still keeps its ties to the original series. I can't wait for the rest of the movies!

Because of your review updates i decided to watch these movies again. I'm glad I did. I love Rowling's imagination and wanted to understand the beasts movies. I paid closer attention this time and realized how much I missed from my passive viewing. Rowling remains a brilliant and imaginative writer and there is no doubt her screenwriting skills will improve to match. Thank you for not being a sheep, and for being thorough,and not taking the popular easy review route.. Great video.

I'm glad you rewatched Fantastic Beasts. I recently saw it for the first time and I can't understand why people don't like it. One of my sisters is vaguely familiar with Harry Potter only because her son, our younger sister, and I talk about it. However, she loves Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. She actually wanted to see it from the first trailer she saw.

As an American. I have come to the conclusion that OTHER people have accents. There fore. They are saying the same word. Pronouncing it as best they can the same. It just sounds very different to People who dont have an accent especially anyone in america who does not speak another language.

Honestly, a English native speaker will prob never be able to pronounce Grindelwald right, like we German native speaker probably never be able to pronounce Greenwich right... Or... Worcester... But, hey, it's OK :) it sounds funny. :) for me, it's very entertaining. F. E. : Volkswagen or Porsche... 😅

I also think that Newt flying solo is very important to the success of this movie because Fantastic Beasts follows adults. I think that thus, there are important lessons that adults would no longer appreciate because they've already learned to appreciate those lessons. When you've grown up and learned to appreciate things like "love" or "friendship", those qualities are not something you need to be reminded of again. Thus, if Newt was just another Harry Potter learning what friendship and love really is, it becomes kind of patronizing to the more adult watchers of these films. They already know these lessons, they don't need to be reminded again.

The FIRST Fantastic Beasts movie is great. Newt is the perfect protagonist, a fish out of water story, with the quirkiness of Monk (Tony Shaloub) toned down enough to be more cute than cringe. Not that it's the perfect story, it's a fun, mystery ride for adults. It also contrasts sooo much to CofG that it makes the 2nd movie awful in comparison. Also, i know the alphabet community is all offended by JK spouting science and biology. She's not my role model, but i think we can cut her some slack for not jumping head first into THAT shallow end of anti-science by Bend The Knee bullying threats.
