CreepyAtTheDiscoToBtlHorror !! Basically cannibal holocaust is a movie about how exploitative the media can be , yet at the same time the director was awful to his actors and crew and really exploited them. He also had killed various animals killed for shock value, forced extras into scenes which featured little to no safety pro cautions, and was generally a jerk to his leading actress. Also he had his actors agree to not take any role for a year after the movie was released leading to speculation they had actually died and he was taken to court over it. Ryan holligner (idk how to spell his name) has a video on it that’s a little more in depth and coherent if ur interested.

I saw Nekromantik once and it was a deeply cursed experience It was the premier of German Angst (a movie that would fit this list) in a tiny artisan cinema in Vienna, organised by a local horror movie festival. The directers were there, among them Jörg Buttgereit who talked a lot about Captain Berlin (a comic he is involved in) and how the only good thing about Nekromantik is the soundtrack (true). After German Angst they showed Nekromantik and Schramm. Schramm was kinda good, but I don't remember because it was after midnight. During the break I drank a beer next to Jörg Buttgereit and I think we talked about Captain Berlin? My memory is hazy. I think he was nice.

I've been a subscriber for a long time but never a real viewer. Recently I actually started watching your videos and I am in love. Your content feels like the youtube that I felt in love with 10 plus years ago, stuff that you don't see on TV, cause the networks are still sane. Best of luck, stay safe and see you after the end of the world.

It may not entirely measure up to these films but I would also highly recommend never watching the movie Tusk. I've not liked walruses at all since I saw that garbage

Ray Hyeana that movie fucked me and two of my friends up for life and i hate it. A comic shop near my house has a replica of the actual walrus man thing and i fucking cant stand it

As to The Holy Mountain, the AFI Catalog says George was interested in being in the movie as The Thief but balked at performing naked from behind. I don't think he put money in but it seems John and Yoko did and Allen Klein who had agreed to distribute El Topo the year before agreed to help finance and produce Mountain.

Hello! I am a first time viewer but after watching this particular video, an instant subscriber! @ Nyx Fears: You have an amazing personality and it's one that I can dig! I'm kind of the same way when it comes to disturbing/horrific cinema/art. :D Keep being you and representing the mysterious and macabre like only you know how to! I'm looking forward to watching more of your content in the future and am currently really enjoying this video! I've only seen less than half of the videos discussed here, but...thanks to you I've added to my every growing "to watch/own" list!

Seen every single one on that list so sadly nothing new to waste time with :-( One question, why is "Blood Freak" (1972) and "Tetsuo II: Body Hammer" (1992) not on that list? "I was tired and ran out of booze" is a valid answer and any permutation of that as well. Also "Nekromantik 2" (1991) and "Der Todesking" (1991) are missing. If you decide to do a part 2 Peter Jackson's "Meet the Feebles" (1989) should go on that list. David Cronenberg's "Naked Lunch" (1991) is debatable but could go on there with all the Takashi Miike and John waters you had included in this one. I think at least one Jesús Franco film should make that list as well :-) Stay Safe you two!

Okay, for a sec my brain didn't switch off and I thought the part with the cat was another movie. So I was just sitting here bracing myself for something terrible. Fortunately, it was not and you have the cutest baby in the world.

A 42-minute hell ride? Sign me the fuck up. Edit: Holy shit, May. This list is absolutely fantastic. I'm only two minutes in and you've already tackled two of my favorite horror films. LVBB is so awful, but I can't help but to love it.

Malmrose Projects also has an interesting perspective (or, more precisely, a multitude of analytical angles, and some additional context), presented in the 4-part "Freddy Got Fingered Analysis". Can recommend for anyone who craves a slightly more academic perspective than the RLM boys give.

The Holy Mountain is the weirdest movie I've ever seen. I guess other movies (like Tetsuo) can be just as weird in their own way but I dunno if it's possible to get any weirder.

Would 100% recommend reading the IMDB parent's guide for each other these movies. Even the notion of having a parent's guide to these movies is hilarious.

If you hate the sharp, piercing sounds of metal on metal or porcelain or teeth, Tetsuo the Iron Man will be nigh unbearable.

On Pink flamingos, when I want to annoy my friend I will sing the song from the singing body part scene (you know the one). That always gives her a great mental image.

Audition was based on Ryu Murakami's book of the same name. I can't say much about the film adaption, but his collection of books is arguably pretty great. He's got lots of interesting horror books, and they're pretty fast and quirky reads. I'd recommend checking him out. He's probably one of my favorite postmodern Japanese authors.
