I'm in the UK, and was about Buddy's age in 1969, ... this was an excellent movie that really caught the feel of the times. I can also remember falling in love with a classmate for the first time.. Mary Marsh, you made me weak at the knees... but you never knew it. Go see this film.. as we used to say in 1969 .. it's "Ace" 😍

Thank you Chris for this excellent review, this is very close to my heart as I'm from Belfast and grew up with the troubles in the 70s &80s happy to say that's in our past and things here are great between both sides, I can't wait to watch this movie on the big screen as it's getting great reviews everywhere, again many thanks ;-)

Belfast was amazing and intense. Also love the Thor nod , the music 🎶 was amazing 🤩 ,?funny part is the 50 shades bloke plays the dad . I love original 🎥 they are rare .

Well now I’m looking forward to Belfast! 4.5 couches from you is a guarantee and I’ve been a Branagh fan (on both sides of the camera) for over 30 years. A sudden family emergency lead to my having to miss Dune (leave during the showing) and that’s the movie I’ve been chomping at the bit to see. I genuinely see Denise Villeneuve as the new David Lean of the 21st century, and have been expecting Dune to be his Lawrence Of Arabia, so to speak. I know we will not truly be able to appreciate Dune until part two is complete and the first novel’s story properly told, but I’m expecting great things from the man who pulled off the impossible task of doing a sequel to Blade Runner that was actually wonderful. We can only imagine what he might have achieved with a sequel to Prometheus, had he been offered a free creative hand and the opportunity? But, what ever he touches is golden it seems?

Are the family Characters on the CAtholic side? Or on the Protestant side? I could not find any description of the plot. The Trailer gives the feel of "Jo Jo Rabbit", is the feel similar at all? It looks good.

Kenneth is great director, writer and actor, and he did better Sheaspeare movies than great Laurence Oliver that sad a lot, he even play Laurence Oliver in My week with Marilyn with Michelle Williams for me very good movie, Willams was nominated for best lead actress for that movie, Kenneth is great in everithing he do

That's why if there's even a studio developing a new Shakespeare story for a movie, Kenneth Branagh is the first person in my mind that should make that movie. He made Shakespeare look awesome

Another b/w film? Yippee. I love b/w movies. Is this on Netflix? Why throw shade at "art house" films? They're usually the best.

Hahaha, I love art house too, but know that it turns some off. This is only in theaters at the moment, but is totally worth the trip!

I finally watched it last night and It was really good. I'm glad it didn't get too dark as I'm one that easily loses faith in humanity when watching movies with this subject matter. The dedication to John Sessions was a nice tribute. It was always a pleasant surprise whenever he would show up on the British game show, QI. I really want to see "C'mon C'mon" in the theater, but it seems there won't be any screenings near me.

I just saw it. It’s cookie-cutter and forgettable. No memorable scenes. Branagh’s Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is one of favorite movies, but overall, he’s just a slightly above average director.
