I never realised how keen Kane is, volunteering to be the first one to go outside etc. And with Alien's corporate themes, he's definitely representing those super keen employees, dude cared too much about a job that doesn't care about him back (Crew Expendable, in fact) and that got him killed first

I did notice Kane being so keen but I always took it more that he was an explorer at heart. He is constantly curious and adventurous which combined with this situation is the last thing you want to be. He was the opposite of Lambert’s character. He finds the “cave” and wants to go down, he pokes around the eggs and even draws his weapon knowing it was maybe dangerous but can’t help stick his face over to see inside. I always feel like through the whole search scenes I want to yell “ok you have investigated enough, the company has to give you your shares… go back” but Kane wont stop poking around. Even Dallas who “does whatever the company tells him” wants him out of the cave fast. If it was not for Kane I can’t imagine anyone else in the crew getting into the situation. In Aliens there are crew bios and it seemed the company selected this crew on purpose. I suspect Kane was added by the company for these explorer traits he has.

1:05 Ash here is quite strange, it's like he's doing warmup moves before going to work, but who would do it like that? His behaviour is not entirely human but also un-robot like. Like he wants to act human but doesn't know how 😂

Alien 1979 upscaled to 4K from the Blu-ray version, with no DNR used. Edited and color graded in HDR and Dolby Vision. Although KZbin currently doesn't support Dolby Vision, the video is HDR compatible. If KZbin ever supports Dolby Vision in the future, this video should play in Dolby Vision as intended. - Watch in HDR for best results!
