Really hoping to see some larger tanks for these fish. Its a tough life for a LMB in a tank that size and its partitioned. Can't really expect any good long term outcomes in that setup :/

Concur. Hence, if he lives and thrives again, he'd be moved eventually.

You should get a square of rectangular-shaped net with a shorter handle (preferably telescopic) to make it easier to catch fish.

Agree. But this was an easy catch being a LMB.

That’s a monster Pleco in with the Peacock bass how big is it Vic? Louis will be a good tank mate he’s a sweetheart:) Cut to next scene, large mouth bass with Louis shaped stomach Ha ha :( No, Louis bit him
@Fish-Story22 күн бұрын
A fully grown common pleco about 20-22 inches. ... So far so adequate for the LMB-Louie combo.

if you can give the asian rtc a tank of it's own like the black devil, that would be nice. such a cool cat. Oh wait!! you had a NEW black devil catfish, what happened to it???
@Fish-Story22 күн бұрын
One of the ARTCs seems to be doing well in the 1800 gal. The new wyckii named Mr Black has been doing also well in its 240 gal. There have been no videos dedicated just to him but he was shown in passing in many videos lately.

I saw in the previous that you had a 5-foot wels catfish how long did it take for it to reach that size
@Fish-Story18 күн бұрын
We bought it at 5 inches in Aug 2016. They don't appear to be a particularly fast growing fish.

The Cichla killed the other largemouth bass or it died from stress?
@Fish-Story22 күн бұрын
See prior video if you will. The other LMB developed an overinflated bladder over 1-2 weeks and died from it.

Vic the LMB needs more room….i know it’s tough finding him space…. Why not the 1500? The small 4500? He’d be fine. Where I fish in NJ LMB live with channels, flatheads, and blues in North Carolina south which some blue cats grow to 100 lbs.
@Fish-Story22 күн бұрын
Thank you. If he lives and thrives again, he'd be moved eventually. He came from 1800 gal because he might eat the dorado. Two female LMB were tried in the less aggressive 4500 gal and one was killed when piraiba, probably, was trying to eat it. They did not evade danger whatsoever in the 4500 gal.

@ I missed the LMB killed by the Catfish…shame that happened. I figured the durado too big but then again LMB are greedy…they go for full grown sunfish where I fish in NJ
@Fish-Story22 күн бұрын
@@harshtruth9148 Yes, their eyes can be bigger than their mouth and stomach. Especially for silvery fish in the mid water column. I am rather sure the lmb would go after the dorados, especially the smaller ones.

Wouldnt it be stressed from being in a tank that small?
@Fish-Story22 күн бұрын
I'd not expect any significant stress from this. If he lives and thrives again, he'd be moved eventually.

Lou lo va matar yo te recomiendo que lo saques de ahi, mételo solo en un acuario hasta que se recupere
@Fish-Story17 күн бұрын
Transl. Lou is going to kill him. I recommend that you take him out of there and put him in an aquarium alone until he recovers. Reply: The opposite is happening. The LM bass is moving.

I think this video shows just how different people's perspectives should be on game fish vs hobbist fishes. Like I keep hearing "oh largemouths, bowfins, sunfish are so aggressive anything in the tank would die to it", maybe for docile fishes but these fishes are nothing compared to a cichlid's temperment or the true aggressors like aba abas, alligator gars, or wolf fishes. You'd think it'd hold it's own but given how cichlids all have unique personalities fish to fish, the bass would survive only in the lowest of the hierarchy. Willing to bet a full grown bass would get bullied by a convict cichlid (If only it couldn't fit in the bass's mouth).
@Marf69Marf6923 күн бұрын
Only game fish that'd survive in a hobbiest fish tank are possibly the Northern pikes/muskies, those are actually aggressive and nasty themselves like your larger more dominant versions of a pike cichlid.

Thank you for this. I am learning as I go. These are our first LMB and from the looks of it, if housed alone or with docile and way too large to swallow tank mates, I'd not see any issues with long term keeping of the LMB.

Largemouth bass do better with peacock when they are bigger and the largemouth outnumbered the peacocks 3 to one

Sounds plausible based on our one try.

These tanks are way too small for such large fish. This is animal cruelty.
