I feel for you bro. Born in England with Jamaican parents after last winter I visited JA for a couple of weeks trying to sort out some business and have a holiday too and I realised that even I feel more at home in JA. England is so depressing esp. in winter where you can go for months without seeing the Sun only rain, fog and gloominess. I realised that though I'm born here my blood and my soul is not built for this climate or culture. I felt so alive as soon as touching down in JA. It was like a return to the motherland. England does have its benefits financially and healthcare wise though. So for me the ideal would be to spend 6 months in JA over winter and the rest in the UK. Young man I will encourage you to think well. You said you came to the U.K. in 2021; therefore I will say that you are still on a resident permit and for this reason I would encourage you to first get your indefinite status first and remember that even with indefinite you cannot stay out of the U.K. longer than 2 yrs else you loose it totally. And also with a resident permit staying more than 180 days out of U.K. will affect the application for indefinite leave to remain when ready to apply. I know these things as I am a Citizen in U.K. of Jamaican origin and has been here over 30 yrs. So I say to you to be wise as we cannot see what lies ahead. As you go and come from Jamaica to U.K. ensure you don’t jeopardise your status for U.K. and give yourself the opportunity to be able to obtain your ILR and a British passport in future. Jamaica will give you social Mobility yes but it come at the expense of everything else. Jamaica will quickly remind you why you wanted to leave in the first place. I would advise you to give england a bit more time. 3 years is no time to judge living somewhere and yes you will be drained mentally and emotionally but bear in mind Jamaica there’s a reason why we drink and party so much, it is to numb those same feelings! Jamaica will always be home but our home don’t love us. I treat Jamaica like a rest from a football game. When I need the break from the running and tackling I go and take the break then get back in the game!
@BusswehTravelАй бұрын
i cant argue with you on this one, ive been reminded a lot why i left in the first place (opportunities, crime, etc). the moral of the story is that you just have to water to grass on the side that you want to be greener

@ 100%! I am in the process right now of writing a book on how to navigate migrating. It is a tough journey and if you are not intentional you will get sucked in and quickly forget why you leave Jamaica in the first place. Social life is easy to have in Jamaica but the older you get you realize that social life can’t pay the bills or set up your next generation for success and at some point you have to shift your focus to that. England is not Jamaica and the faster you wrap your mind around that the better you will be. Then you will start to enjoy what ever else it has to offer, problem is we are looking for Jamaica and we feel disappointed because we are not finding it. Stop looking for it, when you need it jump on a plane.

People speak to others with respect, whether you are rich or poor. No one watch the clothes that you wear ,the way who look. This country looks more on your attitudes more than your surface or assets. I feel more respected and safe here than when I was living in Jamaica. Don't get me wrong. I knew at an early age that I wanted to live in JA, even though the states is so convenient in many ways, and the US dollar values more in JA my heart is in JA. I am planning to make that transition to live in JA, too many of us choose to stay in a country where we’re not happy due to fear. We can’t let fear control what our hear desire, living in fear will drown the body mentally and physically. To each own we all have different journey in life so think smart and do what makes you happy, don’t do what others want you to do. Blessings

Maybe life was much better here before compared to other places, but it doesn’t make sense to live here anymore. If you’re very rich, you might enjoy it but you won’t be able to walk on the street. I am British born, and even I want to go and live in the Caribbean with my mother. London, where I live, is nothing like it used to be. We have a mayor who is ruining everything for the everyday Londoner. It's totally messed up. When people say they want to come here, I ask them why. Stay where you are and build up your country because there's nothing here to build anymore.

@@BusswehTravel Thank you. Look forward to your journey back to Jamaica. You have skills and seem to be a pro active person so success is waiting. IMO, UK use to be a place when you could work, save and do something with your money. Now people are struggling for the basics and things are heading to get worse. Jamaica has its problems too. One thing that I love is that it is easier to start something for yourself and make your own income. UK can be a lonely and stressful place. I value *PEACE*

Sorry to hear your experience didn't live up to your expectations it was probably the worst time to arrive during Covid. London and its experience can make anyone experience one of hardship .the other Jamaican centre's Birmingham Bristol Manchester may not offer the high speed and money but if its space and warm friendly people move out and commute to London for your work while visiting Jamaica regularly. Its the weather and location in England can make life seem grey and if your are unfamiliar were the Jamaica nightlife is it can seem dull.i have family that live in the country by rivers oand open land horse riding fruit trees all that you describe are all there. In terms of benefits for health its unmatched access to free health for life balances out living in Europe ..if your place is warm your half way there its as important as air con in yard ..peace🙏🏽..all de best farda

Having lived in different countries myself I would say you are experiencing culture shock. You need to decide what is important to you and pursue that. No one can tell you what is right for you. I have returned to Jamaica and the potential I see on the north coast is WAY better than I have seen in other countries. Explore a bit, keep an open mind. Thanks for sharing your story. I have come to the conclusion that most Jamaicans who have migrated since covid have ended up worse off, even if they make more money, their quality of life has declined significantly. Jamaica is growing and getting better over time. Five years from now it will be an even better place to live than it is now.

If you can not...then chose the one where your heart and mental state is best. Remember you are a married man...what wifey says and how wifey feels matter! Sounds like she wants to be in London! My husband lives very close to Cane River, entire families are being found murdered, he goes funeral every weekend. He is looking a way out of the chaos. It's beautiful there and I want to live there but bad minded people say he switched up since he met his wife. Jealousy brings danger. A gun has been put in his face twice now. He owns his home up on the mountains. Really feel confused where to live now. Canada is crazy expensive and cold most months. Was born here and found Jamaica to be fabulous. He wants to leave that dangerous atmosphere and come here and I want to leave here and move there. At a crossroads currently. I do not have an online job so I would need to work my medispa business there. Any suggestions??

@@BusswehTravel yeah honestly if it’s culture you want it’s places like Shoreditch, old street, Hoxton, Dalston Hackney sides, Brixton, Peckham, If you’re up North Manchester is your best bet but the blacks there are different less connected to their roots you have Birmingham in the midlands but it is a bit grim and small, everywhere else is pretty unseasoned honestly. Truth is that’s how all us black people cope, same way as you we tough it out and take a break to recharge and top up and vitamin D and sunshine and we time our holidays from Nov- April to shrink our winters here. The good thing about uk is travelling and cheap breaks are easier to Africa and Europe you can get to most places direct short or long haul.

Bro, as a British Caribbean- London and certain parts of the UK has always been a cold place to live for black people. We don’t get the same privileges, we have to work harder and most of our communities have been destroyed. Weather is not really good for our skin or hair. It’s sad but the whole reason why Caribbean’s was brainwashed to come to the UK in the 50-60s era was because they thought it would be better. But now it’s our community is full of more crimes, less jobs and underdeveloped. But that’s often not for white areas. Jamaicans just have to be realistic and do more research before coming here. Realistically it’s about what you can tolerate pros and cons everywhere.

With your skills you can work from anywhere in the world. 💥 So stay in Jamaica and get your clients from around the world. 💥 Build or buy yourself a nice property and live your life... 💥 You can still travel to see the world.💥 However, the main thing is to have a nice property in Jamaica so you can enjoy the rivers and trees and greenery... in a nice warm country, like St.Andrew parish. 💥 A lot of smart people go to London for business, shopping or fun then leave. They don't live in London. Not even rich people live in London. 💥 It doesn't make sense when you can have a mansion in Jamaica with the money you spend in London. 💥 Start looking to buy your peace of land in Jamaica and stop wasting money on rent in London. 💥

Would live to see the stays of Jamaicans who return back home with their tails between their legs. There is a friend of mine from Hong Kong working in Jamaica for the last 10 years.
