State of Decay 2 is an open-world survival-fantasy game set just after the zombie apocalypse. Your small community of survivors seeks to rebuild a corner of civilization, and you get to make all the decisions about how that happens.
You decide who to recruit to your team, where to settle your community, how to fortify and upgrade your base, and when it’s time to move to greener pastures. You select which survivor to bring along on a scavenging run for the food and ammo you need, and who you’ll use to fight off the zombies attacking your base. You choose how you’ll deal with other people who move into your town. Will you be friendly and welcoming... or will you aggressively defend your territory?
Every player’s experience in the sandbox is unique. Each character in your community has their own special set of skills and traits, so no two communities are ever the same. The challenges you face also vary from game to game, based on who you recruit and the decisions you make along the way.
With co-op multiplayer support, you can visit your friends' communities and help them through a tough spot, bringing back rewards for your own communities later. Alternate game modes include a full 10-hour narrative campaign and a four-player zombie-slaughtering "siege defense" mode.

Just to let you know, the community morale isnt -7 as soon as you are one bed short. In that case only the morale of that one survivor (showcased below the morale effect like in 1:17 ) without a bed is -7. Also, having no beds doesnt affect anything else like fatigue recovery, so if you dont have a major problem with morale there is no point in wasting building slots or outpost slots for beds

Yeap, so maybe it would be better to put the workshop inside and put the farm outside. I would probably change the forge to the lounge too, after getting the weapon.

The lounge not only does add to morale passively, it also adds one bed (two if upgraded). Combined with packing the bunks, this would have eliminated the bed shortage.

@@xczechr Exactly. When the game was released I never used it but in the last runs in harder difficulties, not only the beds, but all the moral buffs become sooooo much more important. And it could have some interesting mods installed too.

the Farm is upgradeable to level 3 (though requires agriculture and something else) and produces max 12 food/meds (needs herbalism) while hydroponics comes as is and makes max 9 food/meds. Hope this helps :)

Keep the mechanics textbook. It's really useful to put them on a non-mechanic character that you send to the legacy pool. When you pull them into another community, you can instantly train up a mechanic!

The coffee can mace is the only forge weapon that's worth it. It has the highest impact stat which is what does damage to Plauge Hearts. It's also got good ease of use (determines stamina cost).

FYI Iz, There are NO bases in the game with more than 4 parking spaces, but you can park 2 vehicles on the same space close together so you can use the base depositing thing with both cars. Edit: You can also use cars to block off entrances to the base for better defense.

There's a water station in Fairfield in the fairgrounds. You could replace the food place with it when you go back to loot. Oh at 31:51 you said the same thing 🙂 Eventually if you follow the Cleo questline they'll have you build a haven device at the base which requires water.

It doesn't require water, but the parts upkeep is reduced with access to water.

Yeh I never take forge, it is a waste, I also don't use the watch towers, they were tested, because of the ramps up Zombies will run up and assault the shooters, so they are useless, and if a Jug goes up there trapped up top with him, Noppw bases with LADDER towers built in are great ... I Always get power, water, and gas .. they give a huge Moral Boost, and I do like hydroponics but here, with I use a Large Garden in the corner where you have the Staging area, next to it I put a trade depot, so there out of the way ... I put the staging area dead in middle between car park areas, they don't block travel and Shooting, which helps if Attacked ... Put a Lounge (adds a bed) and Moral near the Bunk houses (Upgraded fully), I put the workshop in the small spot by the thing you store Things in, I can't remember its name, In the back near the BBQ I put either shooting or Melee training, whichever I need on more of my Survivors at the time ... in the barn, it can be still for Moral, Beds if I have a HUGE group or whatever, I generally buy vehicle kits so no mech shop, .. I make sure I have all 6 Outposts, and after the water, power, and Gas, I just get whichever I need depending on Groups of Friends rewards I get. Normally I get more than I use a day and they complain about waste I just grab a rucksack and sell it or Dump it in a junk Vehicle I use for storage I do not see you do seasonal challenges either, gives influence and all sorts of stuff. . .. it's a Loan man sits Not to far from your FARM by a Van.

Oh Yeh if you use the Water Cooler you need a water collector that takes up a spot in the base, then collects and fills it, much like the Small Gas Generator.

There is a really good mod for the farm type of building that increase big time the yield, especially for the hydroponic so you may want to keep the water station just for that. The forge... honestly, I'm not convinced. By the time you got one, you rarely need a melee weapon nor parts if you are a loot-goblin (and on this game, we all are). I can't tell if you did it or not but just in case... the staging area has temporary actions to increase build speed of faciliies. You can also craft your own ammunition (the actual resource, not bullets) via the workshop and the armory. Especially useful has you already have a munition specialisation. You really should use the radio more often, if only to call for people to spawn new enclaves across the map. That way, you won't have to drive a thousand mile to sell your shi... I mean... "valuable items"... Try stomping zombie on the ground with kicks, if only for the good feeling you got when the head pops... wait, it's not just me right ? Right ?

Seems like every KZbin who plays this game goes out to scavenge solo. I never leave my base without a battle buddy. Twice the storage means more time scavenging. Less trips to outposts and home. I even do this in Lethal, although I mostly play on Nightmare. Use that Pack Mule.

I almost always go out solo as the AI is terrible. They shoot your vehicle, they interrupt your takedowns, and generally attract too much attention, even though the AI makes less noise than the player.

Fast searching has a small chance of causing a large noise. Which attracts zombies. Far more of an inconvenience at higher difficulties

Farmland Compound is the best on Trumbull. The amount of slots is perfect and allows you a lot of freedom on how you play. Trumbull actually is the only map that has 4 parking spaces for every base. On the other maps it’s a luxury. If you find a van you can use it for extra bag storage. Not sure if you’ve had that comment yet.

14:05 Technically, the FAL is a Battle Rifle, as it's a self-loading rifle in a full power cartridge (.308 Winchester/7.62mm NATO) that isn't primarily built for precision. But yes, nowadays you would use it as a DMR or something similar Btw it's just wonderful to finally see you having fun at a game and to not be agonized by The Fun Pimps

If you want shorter night, there's a mod on nexus that makes the night really short and the days really long. I did not test it, but I am not a youtuber.

If your mechanics are not fully levelled up, you can give them the books to read them and improve their level. Same for any other skill.

I'm really glad you're enjoying this game! I've been playing it for years now and still find new strategies and ways to have fun, especially with the new curveball update. 7 days to Die has grown kinda stale on me honestly.
