This got uploaded literally just a few days before my bf of almost 6 years and I called it quits .. I've been using work as a distraction to get my mind off of it, but it DOES hurt to see that the one person you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with, is now just suddenly not there. It's a hard adjustment. I didn't realize I needed this video until today.

Really enjoyed listening to this video. The topic definitely needs a part 2. It’s been a couple months for me now but everything still feels fresh. As a writer, one of the most interesting moments that ever caught my attention was hearing my boyfriend confess to me (after we had gotten back together) something about our breakup a month earlier. He said at first he told people--celebrating, yet! ;D -"She's gone!!" And then 2 weeks later, he noticed the tone changing to a flat, "She's gone." And finally, an absolute desperate shriek to the gods, "SHE'S GOOOONE!!!!" And THAT'S when we got back together. LOL (Just discovered you guys and Wong Fu productions, and can't even begin to tell you just HOW impressed I am. Gotta go much deeper and see all that I've missed!)

My ex left me almost 10yrs ago, and the trauma of it has taken hold of me ever since. Yes i admit, i wasnt a good man, nor i wasnt strong enough to keep. Even though i loved her and wanted to share my life with her, in the end, my PTSD, anger issues, etc from my time in the Marines became to much for her. Despite my best efforts, despite improving myself and changing for the better, all of that came to late. She found some one else just 1 year after she left me, married, and has a child. One thing that kills me every day is that how belittled i felt because even though i changed for the better, she couldnt give me the slightest bit of chance to win her back nor the slightest bit of closure to be able to be at peace. Women in my opinion have such an easier time moving on. They hold all the cards. For me, even though its been 9 years the trauma of losing her, i am incapable of finding love again or being in love. Call it abandonment issues or comparing every girl to my ex because in my mind...no girl comes close. I wish i could tell her im sorry...and that as bad as things got, it wasnt all that bad. I still love her, ill always love her.

I think what your missing is closure, that would probably come with a talk with your ex but since so much time has passed its on you to forgive and give closure to yourself. Girls come and go my friend, just keep putting yourself out there because despite you holding your ex in such a high regard, there are many girls like her and even better. Goodluck man

Hmm maybe it would help to seek guidance from a therapist? PTSD is tough to deal with alone, and even having a good romantic partner doesn't solve life's problems, especially with trauma that the partner may not necessarily understand even if they try. It may help you find some ways to cope and understand how to find closure after all this time

Agreed. Seek professional help. Just because people love you doesn't mean they can help you at the level a professional can and the feeling of hopelessness and helplessness can be too much for one to bear. And those we've hurt who have figured out how to move on for them to heal don't owe us any closure.
