I live abroad and same thing that was my first time away from family and home and they kept telling me you get something called culture shock after a while you get into a routine and it wears off have fun

Luckily I haven't really had to deal with culture shock since 1. I'm pretty familiar with ~scottish~ culture from living it second hand through my friends for years and 2. having visited for 2 weeks before! It has definitely been hard being away from my family though :(
