The Invert Cave is finally finished!! Who knew that invertebrates would be the first critters to move into the zoo? We LOVE how it turned out!!
Custom Reptile Habitats did a wonderful job creating the enclosures! Believe it or not, they were made from scraps from other projects, so they are recycled enclosures too! :D You can check out more of Custom Reptile Habitat's' enclosures here:
customreptileh...?sca_ref=68632.4ZDWVxeJgP
We'll also have a limited number of the invert cages available in our store!

Thank you for your concerns about people pushing the enclosures off the shelves! I forgot to mention it in the video, but we plan on drilling a hole into the shelf behind each tank, and dropping in a pin (of sorts) to act as a lock to prevent them from being able to get pushed back :)

Hey! I'm so exited to see the zoo, And everything seems like it will be so cool to see and learn, but I'm very scared of centipedes, so I'm not as excited for that lol. I have loved this channel for a long time and for months I've been excited for this zoo. I can't wait to see how everything turns out and you all are doing so good. I love you Ed and Emily, and I can't wait to *maybe* see you all in person!! Thank you for reading this, if you do, and maybe thank you for responding. You guys inspired me to get a crested gecko named Solis, and he's a baby still lol.

I think the back of those enclosures is in a room that's going to be either an office or the rodent breeding room, so I think it should be okay. I totally get it, though. I love kids, but I absolutely hate it when parents allow their children to climb on stuff or bang the glass at zoos and aquariums.

The enclosures look great. One note though: I know that you want the animals to be visible for customers, but I think that the Asian Forest Scorpion and vinegaroon should be given deeper substrate. My Scorpion dug a 4 inch deep burrow and loves to hang out in there. Your enclosures plenty of hides, but there is something special about seeing them dig their own burrow. Just my 2 cents.

@@hate_watcher She did say that there is about an inch of the tank that goes below the "glass", while she was working on the curly haired tarantula's enclosure. Uncertain how much substrate she used per enclosure, but I trust Emily would do what is ultimately best for the animals/etc without including her own preferences into the mix if they weren't good for them.

This is such an amazing job, I can't believe how great it looks! - I was thinking though, do you have any safety measures so that the tanks can't get pushed through to the other side? Since it is only on a half shelf in the back for support? What about an edge so they can't be pushed back from the invert side? Just a thought! Love you guys

This was the part of the build I’ve been biting my nails waiting to see! It looks so awesome! Do you think you’ll add some kind of black light setting for any of the inverts that might glow? I thought it would be cool to give some of the kids those tiny weak little flashlight black lights so it doesn’t disturb the inverts as much, but helps kids see something a little extra special.

The trantualla reminded me.of this story, I was at my elementary school and there was a giant open house. More than 200 people were there and some people were doing animal showcasing. They brought out a trantualla, told some facts and asked some questons. At some point, one of them asked, " can anybody tell me what trantuallas do with their, (backside?)." At this point I remember a documentary I watched about trantuallas. My hand shot straight up and everyone looked at me. I answered correctly and everyone was pretty amazed, made me incredibly proud.
